Farmhouse apartment on beautiful grounds. 2 mi. to Candlewood Lake

Renovated 2nd floor apartment on 4 acres of gardens and patios. Quaint New England town located a few miles from Candlewood Lake and Squantz Pond State Park. Easy getaway from NYC and surrounding New England area. Abundant hiking trails nearby. Summer offers close proximity to many lake activities and full use of grounds and pool. When the weather turns colder, Thunder Ridge Ski Area is just a few miles away and offers skiing and snowboarding for beginners and is a great family ski area.

Better than a hotel for visiting family and friends nearby, or attending graduations, weddings, and family reunions in the area.

Living Room has electric fireplace and games for those cool nights. Bedrooms are cozy and have luxury linens. The back bonus room has trundle bed and an additional exit to the backyard, along with washer/dryer and bathroom.

Gas grills available for guest use. Basketball court and plenty of yard for kids to play. Spring through fall, enjoy your meals outside on your choice of several patios, firepits, and gardens. Help yourself to the herb garden when in season!

Owners live downstairs and are available. Absolutely no smoking or drug use of any kind permitted. We love animals, but no pets allowed (even though we know they are family.)

My wife and I had a relaxing stay with our 3 month old daughter. The pool and backyard were delightful and the house was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

This was our first Vrbo experience and with Kevin and Kim, will not be our last!! We had an incredible time in the pool, eating on the porch having bbq’s under the twinkle lights watching the children run around. The accomodations were hotel level with the warm touches of a bed and breakfast. We had an MVP experience at a fraction of the cost and made memories that will last a lifetime.

Great getaway, very close to Thunder Ridge ski area

Cozy 3BR apartment in a perfect location for families with young kids (4 & 1). Kevin and Kim were fantastic hosts, even lending us toys for sledding! The home was wonderful, and our 4-year-old loved the nearby beginner ski lessons—highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at your apartment! We stayed for a weekend with two families with children for a Connecticut reunion. Excellent stay

Everything was amazing at this property. The hosts are so kind and happy to help with everything-even offering to help us bring the bags up. The photos are accurate, the place is clean and comfortable, and they put a lot of thought into everything in the unit that guests might need. It’s a beautiful place that we will probably use again when staying in the area in future visits. You just need to know that it is an upper unit, so there is a flight of stairs to go up to enjoy this place.

Family Reunion and Home Visit

This venue was perfect for our family reunion! Indoors, the rooms and beds were comfortable and had everything to make our stay perfect. From the welcome sign in the foyer to the delicious coffee cake from a local bakery, Kim and Kevin thought of everything. Outdoors was perfect, too, with several seating areas to choose from at night and a basketball court added to our fun. We will definitely be back!

Amazing place and gracious hosts

We loved this wonderful home. Hosts were very easy to work with and so kind. Place was immaculate and the towels and bedding were high quality. Kitchen was well equipped and great size. Backyard is beautiful and they even started the firepit for us and supplied wood. We can’t wait to come back in the spring time when the weather is warmer. Highly recommend!!

Fall Getaway in CT

We had a lovely stay with Kevin and Kim. The private apartment was spacious, exceptionally clean, and very tastefully decorated. You could tell that they are very thoughtful towards their guests from the high quality linens and toiletries provided, to the delicious surprise pastry they left out for us. It was everything we needed and more. I almost wish we had booked for a longer stay. I would absolutely book with them again if we are in the area.

Beautiful grounds is an understatement

Drove into town with my adult children for a wedding party at a local venue. Came upon this listing and booked. The hosts were wonderful, the apartment comfortable, immaculate and well appointed, and the grounds breathtaking. I’m sorry we didn’t stay longer. We will be back tough, even to just unwind!!

I can't say enough about Kim and Kevin—they are the most welcoming hosts we've ever met. They made us feel right at home from the minute we arrived, with a personal welcome sign, a beautiful pastry, and hand-picked flowers from their garden. The house was perfectly clean and stocked with everything we could possibly need, which made our stay so easy and comfortable.The backyard was truly the wow factor—an expansive, inviting space with many different areas for relaxing. The pool was pristine, the patio was filled with comfortable seating, and there were multiple BBQs available for use. Kevin even lit the fire pit for us one evening so we could make s'mores, and we were treated to an unexpected firework show in the distance. We loved the home so much that we almost didn't want to leave! While we did venture out to explore the nearby lakes and local restaurants, our amazing experience at the house was a solid 10/10. Thank you both so much for your outstanding hospitality!

The whole backyard area was peaceful and beautiful. We were not able to actually enjoy it because we had previous plans. Next visit to the Watchtower Educational Center we will definitely plan to spend time in the beautiful back yard.

Lovely farmhouse and hosts

So happy to find the lovely farmhouse to gather over the Christmas holiday. The apartment was clean, comfortable and cozy. The six of us spent most of our time cooking and eating together and working on a puzzle. The living room was a great place to relax with the large comfortable couch and electric fireplace. Booking was easy as well as communicating with the kind and thoughtful hosts! We appreciated the welcome treats! We would love to return in the summer to enjoy the gorgeous property!

Everything was Perfect!

My family of 5 flew into town to visit my brother’s family over 4th of July weekend and this place fit us perfectly. The sleeping and second floor apartment were very clean and nice and fit a family of 5 perfectly, but what really sets this place apart is the outdoor amenities. We got a lot of use out of the pool and used the patio and grill for evening barbecues and there was plenty of other open areas for whiffle ball games and other fun activities for families. Kim and Kevin are phenomenal hosts and we hope to be back!
