You couldn’t ask for a sweeter spot for your southwest Michigan getaway than this cozy two-bedroom cottage in New Buffalo. This 1200-square-foot home lives large, with an airy main floor, a huge enclosed sunroom, deck, and extra sleeping space upstairs in the loft. In the warmer months, grab a book and spend the morning in the sunroom. That hammock strung between two trees, just past the above-ground pool, is another likely candidate for whiling the morning away. When you get hungry, make breakfast in the well-equipped, full kitchen, and then grab one of the benches at the kitchen table to dine together. When you decide to venture out, you’re about two miles to the New Buffalo Public Beach and only about a mile and a half to downtown New Buffalo, with its many unique shops, bars, and restaurants. Hiking and cross country ski trails are right across the street, with more only a block or so north. In the evening, screaming-fast internet will help you stream your favorite shows on the wall-mounted smart TV in the living room. Or, head out and visit one of the breweries Michigan is so well-known for, with several within 10 miles. Even better, grab your beverage of choice and head back outside to one of the two firepits to watch as the night stars fill the sky.
