This 2 bedroom/one bath property is in a quiet residential area on Lake Dunlap of the Guadalupe River. Hi-speed internet and WiFi makes a staycation easy. The room with the Queen size bed, and the living room have flat screen TVs with WiFi and Netflix connection. All beds including the Full-size CouchBed have 450 count sheets. Fully air-conditioned and heated cottage has a spacious living room with great views of the lake and the bird feeders. Wood grill and propane grill are available.
On Nov 5, 2023 the Lake is now at its normal filled level with brand new dam gates. The views from the cottage and the backyard are still outstanding as the property is at the deepest part of Lake Dunlap.
**In 2019 The Texas Legislature allowed Texas Counties to add additional taxes to all overnight accommodations in their counties. On September 1, Guadalupe County is assessing a 7% room tax on all hotels etc. This will be charged to you based on the nightly room rate and payment needs to be made as an additional payment****

River Getaway

We had a wonderful stay! The location was great and it was only a short drive to restaurants and Gruene. We spent a day in Gruene Tx enjoying all the shops, the fabulous food at the Grustmill Restaurant and listening to live music at Gruene Hall. The house was very clean and perfect for the four of us. We enjoyed playing cornhole in the backyard facing the beautiful river. I would definitely stay here again. Great view and location

You can’t beat the view from the dock! Plenty of blankets and towels for everyone. Especially appreciated the extra thoughtfulness of the fishing poles and kcups/coffee available especially since we weren’t able to hit the grocery store beforehand. Sure you have to drive some to find stores and restaurants but I’d rather drive 10 minutes for that and stay where it’s quiet and peaceful! Definitely recommend

Nice Swimming Area

The property was great, fun swimming and fully equipped kitchen. Nearby places for groceries. We enjoyed the 4th of July boat parade and fireworks at night, fantastic view. The downside was the noise from construction near property. Also, the twin bed room, curtains and bed liner, need to be dusted, my allergies kicked in, but being outside in River made up for it. Thanks!

Serene and comfortable……

Of all the places I have stayed in past winters this is one of my favorites. A quiet neighborhood on the river, comfortable furnishings with a wonderful view of the river and the activities on it. I was there 3 months and had everything I needed to make my stay enjoyable. The lack of laundry facilities was a drawback but service by the owner doing bedding once a month was a plus and I found a laundromat a short distance away. Consideration and attention to any of my needs or questions were answered with a smile and a question returned to me asking if i needed anything. A special place to spend time and a special landlord.

Great, Quiet weekend getaway

Wife and I just spent our 18th anniversary here and loved it. The location is near a dam so boat traffic is next to nothing. Birds were everywhere and the location was amazing. The A/C works a little too well, and the onsite radio was fantastic. We kept it on low all weekend and it was background noise which was nice. The neighbors are very nice and easy to talk with. The boat dock is great with the chairs. We sat there for hours enjoying ourselves. We were looking for a location that was waterfront and had a hot tub, and even tho the listing says there is one there, there is no hot tub. That is the only negative that we had. The owners gave us advanced notice and gave the option to cancel, but we still wanted to go. Not sure why the listing still shows a hot tub tho when they know there isn't one there. We can see us going there with another family for all our kids to go swimming and stuff as there is a set of stairs to walk in / out, and a ladder to climb out with. But not for April when it might be nice, or freezing, or both in the same day :D
