Very Happy Guest
I loved everything about the Jarvis Inn. I stayed in the cottage and it was just perfect, the bed was so comfortable. Ian the Inn Keeper was very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed for my stay and he had great recommendations for dinner and night life in town which I took him up on. I especially loved breakfast Ian made the best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. It was my first time in New Bern definitely not my last and I look forward to staying her again.

We had the pleasure of staying just one night at The Jarvis at 220, and we’re already dreaming of returning for a longer visit. This beautifully renovated historic home in the heart of New Bern is full of character and charm, with elegant decor and all the modern comforts you could ask for. Our bed was incredibly comfortable, and our room had a sweet little porch out front where we enjoyed morning coffee. The bathroom was a standout—huge, luxurious, and spa-like, a true treat after a day of exploring.
Ian, the manager and breakfast chef, was a highlight—warm, welcoming, and full of great stories. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and made us feel like guests in a grand home.
Although we were the only guests that night, the house felt vibrant and full of life. We can’t recommend The Jarvis at 220 highly enough for a romantic weekend getaway or even as a beautiful event venue. We’ll absolutely be back!

After checking in, we discovered that the owner had just opened up The Jarvis for guests, and boy are we happy they did reopen this B&B jewel in New Bern!
We had a snafu after booking (not Jarvis’ fault) and the owner upgraded our stay even though it wasn’t necessary. She went above and beyond and couldn’t have been more pleasant - all while she was on vacation!
The rooms are well appointed and the beds very comfortable. Each room has its own bathroom that come with all the bathroom essentials - you feel like you are at a spa!
Ian is the manager and chef, and his breakfasts should not be missed. Ian will individualize your breakfast, and makes the best homemade marmalade and jams and eggs. Ian is also knowledgeable about local restaurants and shops, as well as a good conversationalist.
We loved our stay so much that we extended our stay one more night! We highly recommend The Jarvis if you are staying in New Bern and would most definitely stay there again.
