Amazing place. Home feeling. Great owners. They have it all. So much fun for your kids.
This is a beautifully maintained and thoughtfully updated cabin on a perfect lake. We caught plenty of fish and enjoyed peaceful days on the water. Evenings were spent playing games and relaxing together — it was the perfect place to unwind and reconnect. The owners have truly thought of everything to make guests feel comfortable and at home. A wonderful stay in a very special place! We will be back again!
Cabin was very clean and thoughtfully designed. Location was private and quiet. Fire pit was close enough to cabin to be convenient, but not too close as to get smoke from the pit into the cabin. Lake was clear. Views from cabin deck and fire pit were lovely. Enjoyed paddle boards, kayaks and water mat Overall, was a really pleasant stay.
My husband and I along with our two boys (ages 16 and 14) stayed at Sandy Pines for three nights. The boys enjoyed fishing on the lake (we brought our own boat). Our boys also took the kayaks out and fished some on their own. The view from the deck was a perfect spot to sit and drink your coffee in the morning. Amy had EVERYTHING you needed to make this cabin home for your stay. The cabin was very clean. We would definitely stay there again!
We enjoyed a long weekend at Sandt Pines. It was a memorable experience! This quaint & cozy lake cabin is the definition of charming. The cabin's layout & decor creates a cozy, inviting, & comfortable atmosphere. The view of the lake from anywhere inside or outside the cabin was stunning. Much time was spent on the deck, dock, and sand chairs enjoying the peace and quiet. We heard loons, saw ducks bathing on the beach next door, and deer on the island. The kids (older teens) enjoyed fishing off the dock, pontoon fishing, swimming, the lillypad, and of course the wi-fi! The cabin has a well-equipped for all of our needs. The kitchen was had everything we needed to prepare meals and a numerous comfy living areas for relaxing. Our favorites were the screened porch, deck, hammock, and of course anywhere inside the cabin. The firepit, beautiful patio table and chairs, and screened porch all add to the cabin's charm. The location is ideal. It's close to Park Rapids, Nevis, and Dorset. We took one day and went exploring-so many places to see and things to do! Lots to explore! The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the stay even more enjoyable. Their hospitality was truly appreciated & exceptional. For a peaceful, charming, and authentic Northern Minnesota getaway, look no further! Sandy Pines is highly recommended.
My daughter and I, and three of my grandchildren ages 3 to 7 had an absolutely magical time at this cabin! The cabin was spotless, the beach and water were crystal clear and so clean, and the accommodations were so comfortable that it was really hard to say goodbye.
Beautiful little cabin perfect for our family of 4! The lake is gorgeous and we used the kayaks provided multiple times per day! Definitely hope to return.
Beautiful cabin! We had so much fun kayaking, feeding the fish, and lounging in the hammock. The kids especially loved the lily pad! The sand beach was great. Will definitely come back.
Sandy Pines is a beautiful little cabin. It was homey and comfortable, well-stocked, and very clean. We caught some fish in the lake, and spent an entire day on the pontoon on the lake. The owners are very friendly, and they have helpful little notes all over to help you navigate the cabin properly. We would definitely stay here again!
We stayed at Sandy Pines for the first time this weekend with our 5 and 6 year olds. It was phenomenal. The property is meticulously maintained. The cabin is adorable and so cozy. Our favorites were the screened in porch and lakeside amenities. The kids loved the lily pad and paddle boards. We would love to stay again!!
Wonderful stay. Even better than able to be shown with online pics. Host attentive and friendly. Loved the views and sitting in screened in porch. Watching loons, swans and a bever who swam by every morning. A perfect place to escape the every day world. We didn't want to leave.
The Cali kitchen was updated and worked pretty well! I just adapted and use the limited counter space but overall everything was equipped in the kitchen.
If you have a nostalgic idea of a cozy, woodsy cabin, this might be it – loaded with charm & very clean! Comfy furniture, lots of natural light, decorated with vintage touches, good little kitchen, screened porch, reading lamps plus a few books, games, even a radio; if this place doesn’t have it, you might not need it. Ojibway Lake is clear & small enough that it’s not noisy with some nooks & crannies to explore with the kayaks; house nestled in trees so feels private. Night temps dipped into 40s, yet we stayed warm. Such a pleasant stay!! And of course the host is nice – she’s a teacher; thank you for sharing this lovely place, Amy!!!
The cabin was cozy, clean, and the setting was peaceful. The cabin is well supplied with all the basics you could need. The host was quick to respond when contacted. The lake views from the cabin, screen room and decks and the sound of the loons calling were beautiful. While kayaking the lake, we could see blue gills, bass, northern, musk rats, loons, swans with babies, and an occasional eagle. We would definately return!
We enjoyed our stay at Sandy Pines. The cabin was so cozy. It had the charm of a rustic cabin but also some nice updates and is well maintained. Listening to loons at night from the screen porch was a favorite. The outdoor dining area was another great gathering space. The lake was clean and the sandy shore made it the perct place to take a quock dip. We also made good use of the kayaks and paddleboards. The lake wasn't incredibly large or busy so it was easy to keep an eye on people from the dock as they paddled around. We also treated to a beautiful sunset from the dock. The hosts have many included amenities that make staying there hassle free. Everything was clean, well organized and easily accessible. We would definitely consider this property again for a small group or couples getaway!
A Cozy Lakefront Cabin: Even Better Than the Pictures!
This lakefront cabin was absolutely amazing! The pictures are great, but it's even better in person. When we got there, we were blown away by how cozy, clean, and thoughtfully decorated it was. Yes, it's small, but it's totally functional and actually feels way bigger than it looks. The owners thought of every single detail, making it feel like a true home away from home. The kitchen, even though small, was a big surprise – fully stocked with everything you could need, plus a dishwasher! And there is a grill too, which used a ton.We opted to also rent the pontoon boat and spent many hours on the lake swimming and fishing. Even managed to catch a few pike. The kayaks and paddleboards were a big hit with the teenager and the 7-year-old was obsessed fishing for sunfish off the dock pretty much nonstop.Pro tip for: dig through all the deck boxes! They're packed with literally anything you could possibly need for a lake cabin stay.We had a wonderful stay, thank you Amy for the hospitality!
Our family of 3 just finished our long weekend stay at Sandy Pines. The check-in process was easy, and the property is absolutely gorgeous. Very rustic, yet beautiful - right down to the pictures on the walls. Everything you needed was right there at the cabin. My son loved the beach area, and we all loved the kayaks and paddle boards. Our son caught too many bluegills off the dock to keep track of. Fishing elsewhere on the lake was slow, but that’s why they call it fishing and not catching, I suppose . The neighbors said that the lake is super low this year, making the weeds grow a little quicker than typical. This cabin has a 10/10 cozy factor, looking like you stepped right into a magazine on interior design. The seating areas outside were all well thought out. My favorite space was the screen porch. Perfect spot to finish my book, and play an intense game of Monopoly in the evening, and listen to the loons all day long. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!
