Weekend Getaway

Quiet, Peaceful Place to stay
This tiny apartment was absolutely perfect for my weekend stay in Nevada City! It is surrounded by trees and flowers. The only noise I heard was birds singing in the trees and maybe distant traffic sounds. I didn't even hear neighbors. I can't even properly express how completely peaceful it was. The little apartment was exceptionally clean and tidy. The decor was minimal, tasteful, and peaceful. Finding the entrance was a bit of a challenge. The street number was not easily seen from the road. Google Maps told me that I arrived, so I set out looking. It is located down the side of the house, a bit hidden, which made it challenging to locate. But what makes it challenging, also makes it private and peaceful. Just a caution... there are many little steps to access this apartment and the toilet is very low to the ground. This was not an issue for me, but a caution to those who have mobility issues. If you are considering a time in Nevada City, this is a fantastic place to stay!

Over Experience
Property is beautiful. Very difficult to find because there are no house numbers. Called host who was very helpful. At night the studio is very dimly lit, plenty of light fixtures but all are very dim. The light in bathroom is the only bright light. Difficult to read at night. The TV did not work but the wifi was great. At night from 7:30 to about 11:15 there was a lot of walking around upstairs, which was a nuisance for both me and my dog. There was a large fenced yard to the right of the house which I did not know if I had access to, but it was not offered anytime after my arrival. Could have been much better communication form the host. Over all it is a very nice venue it just did not work out for me because of the above reasons. I left having spend one night out of two.

Magical studio in the heart of Nevada City
This private studio was the perfect retreat for a weekend in Nevada City and had every amenity I could ask for. Walking distance from all the shops and restaurants but still very quiet and secluded. The claw-foot tub is phenomenal and the bed was super comfy. Highly recommend!

Great quiet location
We had a great stay here in this beautiful cottage hideaway! The location could not be better, and it felt both quiet and private. The tub was amazing and probably my favortie part :) We arrived at night and the walk to the location was a bit dark. There are motion lights as you get to door though. And it is quite slippery when it rains so be careful and use the flashlights that they offer. REcommend and enjoy!

Delightful respite
We needed a place for two nights while we visited with family nearby on our way across the country. This place was perfect. Everything beautiful, peaceful and comfortable, from the redwoods we parked between to the claw foot tub to was away the road fatigue. An easy walk down the hill to delicious food, and a short lovely drive to the Yuba River, among other lovely places nearby. We were grateful for the fridge and electric kettle for our morning hot beverages. The bed was cozy and comfortable, and the wifi connected easily.

Fiancé, pup and I stayed for two nights and thought everything was perfect. Location is ideal and property is so beautiful. We walked downtown for meals and took the car to check out swimming holes. We hope to be back someday soon!

Convenient and Cozy
This was a cozy little studio very close to town, perfect for our weekend getaway. Communication was great with Graham and his friend who helped when we arrived later in the evening and couldn’t locate the place in the dark. Super friendly. There was a bit of an ant issue with some of the food we brought - must keep things stored tightly shut. Just something to keep in mind when renting. No big deal! All around - wonderful place. Thanks Graham!

Beautiful property!
This is a great little hide-away. No frills, nothing fancy, but clean and exactly as stated. The propert is beautiful. our only issues were that we had no control over the temp, and it got pretty warm. Adding a fan (ceiling would be ideal, but even a box or smaller fans) would help. The tub is lovely, but there really is not a shower. And, the potty is LOW. But, nothing we couldn't deal with. Thank you for helping us to escape from reality for a couple days!

My husband and I had a great stay in the Garden Studio with our pup. The space was very clean, beautiful, and felt really private. It was nice to have a little deck to ourselves. The location is ideal, walking distance from town. We would definitely stay here again!

Very convenient location close to downtown Nevada City and about 10-15 minute drive from great swimming holes. Towels were missing when we first arrived but the property manager was easily reachable by text and dropped some off for us. Tv and fridge were quite small but we didn’t have much use for either so it wasn’t a bother.

Charming stay steps from town!
Owners were very welcoming. Cute little place to spend the night. Perfect for a single person or a small couple as the bed was on the smaller side. The tub was perfect but some may want a shower. There was no a/c but stayed pretty comfortable with a room fan. Overall, excellent and would stay again! Thank you!

Austere and NOT dog-friendly
This review is for the garden apartment...a clean, VERY tiny apartment. NOT a place for spending “down time”. There is a bed and one desk chair. Outside the apartment is a tiny garden table and two small chairs. If you are tall, the toilet is a real problem - it’s VERY low to the floor! Included in the (over)price: A dorm-sized refrig and tv, No microwave, No coffee, tea, NOT EVEN A CUP (although a month ago a renter had suggested it)... nothing to warm water with even if you brought your own. Regarding the “dog-friendly” issue: the owner stated they’ve had issues with barking and scratching dogs so you cannot leave them unattended. But the real KICKER is, “...dogs must be walked OFFSITE with poop bags.” What, so they can go on someone’s else’s property??? Completely ridiculous and selfish. Beware, the surrounding roads are narrow, with little to no green area, and WHERE are you supposed to deposit your poop bags? We actually got yelled at by her neighbor when our dog peed on the gravel outside of her fence. For all of this, we got charged an extra $30! Now HERE is an example of dog friendly: we moved from here to Grass Valley’s Courtyard. Upon our arrival, the maids showed up with dog treats, water and food bowls, a blanket for each pup, and a roll of doggy bags! Our room was two steps away from two large grassy areas, with a bin for their bags. Not only that, we were told we could leave them in the room and barking is ok since everyone has dogs! Our very clean apartment included a delicious breakfast, coffee, microwave, refrig and a happy-hour with wine and hors d’oeuvres ! All this for $20 more/night than this NC ripoff.

Clean Studio with Prime Location
Mollie's Garden Studio was wonderful! My boyfriend and I went to Nevada City to enjoy our Memorial Day Weekend. The Garden Studio is very cozy, clean, and completely renovated. The location is around three blocks from downtown, it's uphill but not difficult or intense. The property is spacious and you really do get your privacy. The only recommendation I would have for Mollie would be to add some living/stay essentials. For example- cups, a coffee pot/coffee, more toilet paper, etc. Also, the towels are amazing! Overall, I would highly recommend this location for a solo adventurer or a couple!

Thank you so much for your kind review, it means the world to us! And I do appreciate your recommendations as well. We have typically had an electric kettle and a French press and mugs in this room but something happened with our French press recently. Anyhow, I’m going to make sure that I get back on top of that for guests in the future. Guests of course would need to bring their own coffee but there would be the accoutrements available. I do hope that you will stay with us again sometime and otherwise enjoy the onset of summer!

Clean, cozy room w/ huge clawfoot tub, comfy bed on beautiful property close to downtown Nevada City
Stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed every moment even the rainy mornings with my young lab exploring the treed back acre. Beautiful side street close to town made the ventures in for great wine, music and food (as well as shopping) a breeze. Mollie and her girls were very responsive and welcoming. I hope to return soon.

Really lovely and comfortable stay in the Garden Suite. Private, cozy, stylish and serene.
Spacious property, very quiet and just a few minutes’ walk into town. We never needed our car over the weekend. The Garden Suite was cozy and well-appointed: soft cotton sheets and thick white towels, simple and stylish decor, very comfortable bed, great tub. We really enjoyed the outdoor spaces as well, the pool and our private little deck. It was a great stay and we’ll be back.

Adorable studio on a beautiful property
Our stay was exceptional in every way. The studio was quiet and private with its own little patio for coffee in the morning. We sat out and enjoyed fresh air, the birds singing and the lovely landscaping. Sheets and pillows were super soft and comfortable (I typically bring my own down pillows, but was very happy with the ones on this bed!) The place was spotless. Walked easily to town, appreciating the recommendations we had been given by the owners and had a perfect stay!

There is no finer place to stay in Nevada City if you want to be within an extremely easy walk to everything this historic town has to offer, yet feel like you're miles away in the quiet country. A quite extraordinary getaway, so well appointed and thoughtfully designed, amidst stunning grounds. Only regret is not being able to stay longer! Owner was super accommodating in responding to inquiries and access couldn't have been easier.
