The hotel was nice in many ways. Reception was chaotic. There was no recepton area, just a bell, which I rang three times. After the third time, I went through to the bar to find that an elderly lady was managing both bars, and check in.. Eventually after about 25 minutes we got checked in. The room was basic but clean, warm and comfortable. We had a nice cooked breakfast in the morning. I dont think £140 was particularly cheap for the standard of accomodation.

Great lodges in a wonderful location. Peaceful woodland location just minutes from the town centre, a perfect combination. Unfortunately our visit was cut short due to the storm but were offered a full refund. Will be back to stay at the lodges explore the area again.

Would definitely stay again
"Really enjoyed our stay, the room had been refurbished but the wardrobe and bathroom doors were slightly damaged/tired looking. Beds were comfortable, very powerful shower and breakfast was delicious. All staff very friendly and welcoming."
