"We stayed for three nights in a Superior Room. The room was large and comfortable. It was cold but we'd been given a heater that we did appreciate. The bathroom was large and well equipped. I think generally for India though it was expensive. It's living off it's old reputation a bit. But we picked it because basically everyone recommended it from the Man in Seat 61 to my mothers best friend. The grounds were lovely. Breakfast was good (buffet style). I wasn't impressed too much by the evening meal. I thought it was too expensive. And it was held by candlelight - it was so dark I had to use the torch on my phone to read the menu... Overall - it was good, not excellent. If I went back I'd choose somewhere else, because we've done this now, but I'm glad we stayed there this time."

"Sterling Darjeeling is a great place to stay for a trip to the area. The location is much better than anything close to the mall. You can avoid all the traffic and noise of central Darjeeling. Views of the valley and surround mountains are great. The staff is very helpful. If you’re traveling from the airport, you will get to the property much faster (hours) than any place close to the mall because of all the traffic even though it’s only a few kilometers away. I would highly recommend Sterling Darjeeling."

"The staff were great. The location was perfect and close to main Darjeeling mall. The floors in the room and multiple junctions in the lobby area are uneven which may cause discomfort and extra attention especially for elderly people."
