"Nice pool , good breakfast, quiet location. Helpful managers, excellent restaurant on site Our room #128: shower head clogged-had to use hand held. Slow drain and small shower cubicle wirh no curtain: flooding on floor everytime we showered . Dont stay in room 128. Our AC kept our room cool, however everyday we would leave and the housekeeper would open the patio doors and leave them unlocked. We reported this to management. Air conditioner from above floor dripped onto our patio right next to...

"The hotel location is fantastic, very peaceful, with well kept and beautiful grounds. Food is excellent, staff and service equally so. Whilst the rooms are basic ours was very clean and the swim up pool, whilst shared with two other rooms, felt private. We had a wonderful ten days all inclusive, which was excellent value. We'd 100% return! Not a place to go if you're bothered about watching television 🙂"

Hotel Kissandros

8/10 Good

"The lady in charge couldn’t do enough for us and she put on a decent enough breakfast each morning. Her qualities stemmed from her good nature and willingness to assist us in every way. Her lack of English language skills meant she lacked the werewithall to help on other issues such as a lack of certain bathroom equipment such as a plug for the sink. Such small inconveniences didn’t bother us but it may do others. The lady’s son attended regularly and he could speak English more than adequately. The room was always clean and everyone down at breakfast seemed to be perfectly happy with the place."

Private paradise with heated pool Peace, comfort. Goddess and large garden

10/10 Excellent

"If you are wanting a 5 star hotel this is not the place for you however if you are wanting a very Cretian villa with a beautiful pool and garden and a host who goes the extra mile then this is the place. Vagelis (the owner) simply added to the holiday with his fresh fruits, honey and oil from his own olives. He was available for any help needed. Great place to stay and great people. We would gladly visit again."

Paralos The Maxine - Adults Only

8/10 Good

"Great sea views and easy 5 minute walk to Agia Galini beach. Room 212 was spacious, bed was comfortable, pool was beautiful and had ample sun-beds and shade, and the AC worked great. Improvements that would enhance the stay include figuring out and fixing the sewage smell in the room and fixing the moldy trim outside shower. Lacked basic amenities like hair conditioner, had a bottle of hand lotion in the shower instead of hair conditioner- which was really weird. When you leave the room, all electricity turns off which means the mini refrigerator and freezer turn off- you come back to melted ice and warm beer. There is no restaurant on site. They do have a snack bar at the pool open until 5 pm. They have buffet breakfast with a lot of hot and cold choices each morning. If you want real orange juice, cappuccino, or espresso there is an additional charge (most hotels include these options via self serve machines). In the evening they offer a buffet dinner. Bar is open til late but does not serve food or snacks. We really missed having a restaurant to order from. Good news is plenty of great beach bars and tavernas were short walk away along the beach."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Neo Kalamaki?

The best area to stay in Neo Kalamaki is along the main beachfront road, particularly near the central square and the harbour.

This area is the heart of Neo Kalamaki, running parallel to the coastline. It's where you'll find the majority of the village's restaurants, cafes, and shops, all within easy walking distance. The main beach stretches along this road, offering direct access to the sea and clear views across the bay. You'll also find the small, picturesque harbour here, where local fishing boats are moored.

Couples looking for a relaxing beach holiday will find this area ideal. Hotels and apartments here often boast sea views and are just steps from the sand. You can enjoy leisurely strolls along the promenade, dine at waterfront tavernas, and easily access boat trips from the harbour for exploring nearby coves.

Families with children will also appreciate the convenience of staying in this central beachfront area. The shallow waters of the main beach are suitable for younger swimmers, and the proximity to amenities means everything you need, from ice cream shops to mini-markets, is close by.

When is the best time to go to Neo Kalamaki?

The best time to visit Neo Kalamaki is during the shoulder seasons, which are April to May and September to October.

During these months, the weather is pleasantly warm, ideal for exploring the area's natural beauty without the intense heat and larger crowds of mid-summer. You'll find that all the local businesses are open, from tavernas to shops, ensuring you have a complete experience. The sea is also warm enough for swimming, and you can enjoy the beaches in a more relaxed setting.

For travellers who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and cycling, these periods offer comfortable temperatures. The trails around Neo Kalamaki, which lead to charming villages and offer stunning coastal views, are particularly enjoyable when it's not too hot. It's a great time for those looking for an active holiday with good weather.

If your priority is simply soaking up the sun and enjoying the beach, the peak summer months of June, July, and August are also suitable, though expect higher temperatures and more visitors.
