This cabin is well-situated for day trips to many locations in Hocking Hills and other parks. The many bedrooms, all with large beds, could sleep 10 people. The living and sitting areas are comfortable. The pool, hot tub and outdoor grill work well. The only negative was the too-worn condition of the upholstery and broken recliners.
We had a full house of 12 adults.. The check-in process was good and the property maintained contact prior to our stay.. The hot tub was the only issue, but everything else was great.
I would highly recommend staying at the cabin. Very clean, quiet and the pool was a hit with the kids. There is a very nice fire pit area for making S’mores. Will stay again!
Our stay at the sunset cabin was great, the house was so roomy and the backyard was perfect for outdoor activities! Ample seating for lots of people, having the fire pit was great too. Would stay in this cabin again :)

House with great bones but needs updated and a deep cleaning.
The Cabin was family friendly and had a nice layout. Lots of room. Nice kitchen for cooking in. Ample chairs and space to spread out. Pool and a 8-persom hottub bonus. We had a blast and will be back!
We had a wonderful family fall weekend with our adult children at this Nelsonville gem. We enjoyed hiking, horseback riding, numerous lawn games and a dinner at a lovely restaurant in town staffed by Hocking College students. The 5 bedrooms worked well for our large family and pets were allowed so the family dogs could join in the fun. We will definitely return to this destination next year.
Second time visitors to the cabin. When we had issues, we called the management and they fixed the issues.
Great Master Suite. Nice size living areas and well equipped kitchen.
Thanks
There were 12 of us and one dog. The place was plenty big and comfortable. We used it all. The fire pit, the pool and the hot tub. Sat on the back deck and the front porch. Would recommend
I stayed in this cabin with 6 of my girl friends, it made the best memories for our girls trip! Lots of rooms and nice size table with lots of seating. We loved hot tub and fireplace, it kept us warm while we cuddled up on the floor with lots of blankets and watched movies. It was exactly what we wanted and more! I loved that it was a short drive to the main road! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us, we had a great weekend
Nice location. Pool is wonderful. Good wi-fi/cable. Hot tub and deck with grill and nice seating. Good kitchen set up and 2 living areas to hang in. 2 bathrooms good for 4 people - may be a challenge for more than 8 people since 1 bathroom is only accessible going throught the master bedroom. Nice firepit area but we did not use during our stay.
We enjoyed our stay. There was enough beds for everyone, the pool was great. We didn’t use the hot tub. The only negative thing to say is that with this house sleeping 12 there is only 2 bathrooms and 1 of which you only had access to by walking completely through the master bedroom. If there was a 3rd bathroom or even just a half bath would be a great improvement!
We came to the area for a motorcycle riding vacation with a total of 5 couples. Here are the pros and cons of the rental house. Pros: Location was awesome, nice open layout for group activities, decks, hot tub and of course the new pool was wonderful. Plus with temps in the 90's the A/C worked like a charm. Cons: The house really needs a 3rd bathroom. With 10 people and only 2 bathrooms, one of which was in the master bedroom it got a little hectic. Not the fanciest of places to be sure. Lastly, and this is more a personal note, the bedrooms could really use ceiling fans. Overall very worth the rental, all of our friends enjoyed their stay.
Enjoyed our stay, pool was a big plus which appears to be new and wasn’t on the listing when I booked. A few issues with the property, but nothing that would prevent me from coming back. Railings on the deck are very dangerous for kids (most have fallen off). Easy 10-12ft drop from the deck. A storm door to the rear deck slams shut heavily, again dangerous for kids. Lights flicker constantly indoors (more like flashing).
Hopefully these things get addressed and I would rate a full 5 stars.

Good Enough
This property was goof enough for our party of 10 but somethings could be improved.
1) The check-in process was a bit of a pain. You have to pick a single key up from a remote location that was about 15mins out of the way for us. And then also return the key. That equals an extra hour of time. Plus there is only 1 key for our group of 10 which makes splitting up on outings to Hocking Hills an issue. I would recommend a key pad entry like most rentals use.
2) the hot tub would not get hot. Its more like a luke warm tub. We specifically chose a house with a hot tub so this was a bit disappoint for our group.
3) the house just isn't set up well for bigger groups. The second bathroom can only be reached by going through one of the bedrooms. The toaster only holds two slices at a time. We had to buy our own additional toilet paper and paper towel because what was provided ran out. For 5 bedrooms I excpected it to be a little better stocked.
Overall though it met our needs and we had a great weekend. But it was just good enough and nothing spectacular.
Clean, kids liked pool, but cabin had major septic failure. For 24 hrs, unable to flush toilets, use tubs/showers because sewage had backed up into them! We were expected to use toilets but not flush! Many went outside in the woods. Crew couldn't snake out line cuz there was no clean-out; had to open sewer line & install one. NO WAY that was code! (Danielle, Brad/crew were very nice!) We lost entire day of vacation! Should have been relocated to alt. facility or compensated for this deplorable situation. Prop. mgr. said all she would do was refund $245. Shameful & unacceptable! Other issues: Porch had many loose boards/felt dangerous. Door didn't close tightly. Several beds sloped uncomfortably to middle. Trundle broken. Not enough blankets; just sheets, spreads, throws. Fridge door missing all shelves but the 2. Due to neg. reviews re: hot tub, we contacted property beforehand. Were assured it worked great, but it didn't. Bad jets, sand on bottom, cloudy water & lukewarm, never @ standard temp/104 deg. probably due to dilapidated cover. NO WAY deck was built to code for supporting its weight. Structural carrier beams were severely sagging. Outdoor trashcans were small, flimsy, lids couldn't be secured, so dogs got into them; A Mess! Called re: huge in-ground bee nest by pool; major concern due to severe allergies. They came & treated it; smelled like gasoline. Firepit looked nice, but w/ septic issue, we did NOT go down there! Very disappointing experience!

Cute house with 5 bedrooms which was nice so we didn’t have to share. Open floor plan was also nice. Only issue is the hot tub didn’t work. Would not warm up and when we looked outside the wood underneath was bowing so glad we didn’t use it. Overall a great place to have a relaxing weekend.
We had a great time when we stayed at this cabin. The pool was great to cool off in and the hot tub was perfect to help sore muscles from hiking. The kitchen was equipped well to cook our meals. The only issue we had was the trash can outside did not have a lid and animals got into it on our second night. We messaged the owners and they picked up the garbage the next day, but did not leave a can with a lid. We had to bring the garbage in at night the rest of our stay to prevent animals from getting into it as it was not picked up again. All in all a good place to stay.
