We had a great time in Nellysford. The was overall okay. We had issues with the wifi, and it took forever to get that straight. Some of the doors wouldn't lock, so that bothered us. Overall it was a nice place to stay.

great mountain house
We loved our stay here. It was great for our two families and we had plenty of space to hang out for a weekend. We were super close to tubing, which we loved (and skiing, if we'd been into that). We loved watching the sunrise and ending the day with a fire. A few things of note: the dining room table is right at the top of the staircase to the basement and would have been dicey with young kids. I'm 90% sure there's only one queen bed, not two (the bedroom on the main floor was definitely not a queen, and I'm pretty sure the one downstairs was a full/double also). There's a closet large enough in the primary bedroom/king bedroom upstairs to fit a pack and play or a bed for a toddler, if that's something you need.

Great Location
The house was very comfortable and clean. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook up a feast. The area was beautiful and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay. My only gripes were the hot water was not great and half the jets in the hot tub did not work. I had seen that on a reviews but was hoping they resolved it. Other than that would definitely recommend it.

We had a lot of fun!!
The house was clean and the kitchen was pretty well stocked. The proximity to the resort was fine (you have to drive). We built a fire and it was very cozy. The TV reception was in and out, there was never enough hot water and they could have used a few more towels, but the initial welcome email was very thorough. We asked the owner a few questions along the way and they never got back to us, but all in all, I would definitely rent this home again.

Beautiful cabin and great location
Overall a great cabin that had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms. We did have issues with the coffee pot leaking. It seemed like the pot did not fit the maker properly. There was ice on all of the decks which made it a hazard to walk on. This made it difficult to carry things into the house safely when we first arrived. One person in our group fell down and had several bruises and abrasions. Also, the hot tub was not clean. The water was green and smelled bad. There was black mold in the king bedroom on the ceiling near the ceiling fan.

This was such a great stay! The weather was rainy all weekend for us, but even so the views were amazing, the hot tub was bliss, and devil’s backbone is a short drive away!

Neglected property
The grounds were in bad shape. Manager said it had been 3 weeks since any mowing was done. So many things were broken. The dishwasher, the icemaker, the televisions, the chairs, the table. My husband sat in a chair at the table and it collapsed. he cut his hand and bruised his hip. All the chairs were in bad shape. I took pictures. Not worth the money we spent.

Anonymous, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. - When you have people in and out of a home and they don't tell you that something is not working it's hard for us as the owners to know what is going on. We're sorry for the inconvenience but we had a technician out the same day to fix the dishwasher and refrigerator - The house is located on the side of a mountain we don't really have a lawn, but the grounds are periodically spruced up to be sure they look good - We were unaware that one of the chairs was broken but I just bought a new dining room chair and ordered two more - We ordered a new hot tub cover and due to shipment delays which everyone is going through it has been delayed but it's on its way - We have instructions available for the TVs not everyone reads them, to make things better I have had the cable company out to make improvements and they should be easier to use - As the homeowner, we have been very fortunate to have lots of guests who have been able to enjoy the 5-star experiences we are known for. We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and we are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

Home was very clean and well stocked with nice quality linens! The home layout was great for a 3-guy brewery tour trip allowing each of us to have rooms/bathrooms on separate floors.

This house was overall awesome. Clean and as advertised. My only somewhat minor complaint is that the listing claims that for an additional fee you can get access to the Wintergreen pool, but that does not see to be possible. However, even with that I would book again!

Excellent family weekend
We enjoyed the house very much. We had enough room for our seven adults to spread out and then gather for games and meals. We enjoyed nearby hikes, rail-trail, breweries, and a day trip to Staunton. The hot tub was a big plus! There is a bit of winding roads to get there, but the scenery was gorgeous and the house private. We hope to visit again!

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. We used the hot tub every night which was very relaxing. Layout of the house is great to give parents and children their own space. Location is very private so we felt like we were in our own little world. Our only complaint was whatever the cleaners used to clean the dining table made it so sticky paper towels literally adhered to it. Other than that it was a wonderful stay.

The location is just excellent, if you are a looking for a hiking trail close to the place where you stay. The house is equipped with all the amenities listed, very beautiful and quite place for those who want to take a break from the city noise.

Overall our experience was very nice and we'd definitely stay there again. Lots of room and nice amenities. We wished pre-check in would have had more info (like what type of kitchen items are available). The lower level refrigerator is still not operational. The hot tub was very enjoyable but several jets weren't operating, which wasn't a huge deal since it was just 2 of us. We were unable to connect to wifi using the supplied password, but we have unlimited data on our devices so it wasn't a big deal. Bottomline we had a great time and would do it again!

Great Friends Trip
Two-family weekend trip with kids. Had a great time. Rec Room downstairs was a great room for the kids. Property manager was responsive when we noticed the hot tub looked off and the coffee maker didn't work- He was quick to respond and fix. One master on second floor with en-suite and the other larger bed was off the living room-- worked out okay for two families. Listed as "no-pets" but the owners must have a dog-- light colored pet hair was easy to be found, but no big deal. Was a great trip and would stay there again!

Very nice house, if staying when cold be sure to bring warm clothes. Some doors don’t have cracks in them. Overall great house to stay in! We had 8 people and seated everyone well!! :) favorite part, the hot tub!!!

As Advertised but a few small complaints
The house was very clean, lovely to see and had all the amenities in the listing but we were baffled by the fact there was no hand soap in some of the bathrooms, no towels in the kitchen, no food storage containers of any kind, and no first aid kit when someone cut their hand. Also the directions for how to dispose of the garbage were unclear and we ended up having to bring it home to dispose. These are all relatively minor things that we've made a note of to bring the next time we take a trip like this and I would recommend the cabin to others.

Property was just as pictured. Will was very responsive to my initial phone call upon check in regarding WIFI issues. Due to the overcast weather and rain the WIFI was constantly going in and out. That comes with being up in the mountains. The house is a rental management property so be prepared to really bring everything cooking wise (spices, cooking spray, etc…) It’s not well stocked and previous renters don’t leave anything behind except coffee filters. The hot tub worked amazing and heated up quickly. The fireplace was perfect for a chilly fall night; however you need to bring a starter log or some kindling. None were provided. There is some firewood outside by the house but it’s not covered — so may need to purchase prior to arriving since there is no outdoor covering. Important thing to note: downstairs fridge is broken. This was previously mentioned and remains unresolved. One complaint: THE HOT WATER TANK IS TOO SMALL. The house lists for up to 8 people but with only 5 people using it the hot water quickly diminished within minutes of people showering. For a house with 3 showers and a large number of people you’d expect a larger hot water tank. The water was lukewarm less than 5 mins into 3 simultaneous showers. Other than the hot water being an issue our girl’s weekend trip was delightful.

Some reviews have said that getting access to the code for this property was difficult. But we found it very easy. The place is gorgeous! Very spacious for our group of 6. Super accommodating. Only issue was getting signal. Some of our friends couldn’t get great cellphone service but that is a given when staying in the mountains. But it was the getaway we all needed. We will definitely book this cabin again!!

Worst Management Company
The place was great, but the response from the Management company was a big ole ZERO. Tried to get our check in code for hours with no response. No response to emails, voicemails or texts. The place has to be owned by the management company as a private owner would certainly not put up with this lack of response.

Great Location and Wonderful Gathering Spot
We found this and description was perfect for what we needed. There were previous reviews that mentioned hot water and stove top issues and we found all previous concerned addressed! The hot tub was great and was very clean. The decks are in need of cleaning and staining but didn’t distract from enjoying the wonderful views. There is a gas grill there that was not mentioned in any of the descriptions or amenities. There was some confusion with entry code of front door on documents received at time of rental. Those documents said code was last 4 of renters phone number but that is in fact wrong. We quickly were able to resolve the issue with the property manager. Inside was very clean but also needs a bit of attention. Overall was a great weekend and would definitely rent again.

Would have been 5 stars but there were multiple issues. Door code was not correct and no one from the property company/owners reached out to let us know that. All the batteries were taken out of the remotes for all of the TVs and a power cord missing from the cable box, so we were unable to use that. Lastly, the hot water went out multiple times and had to have the property manager come up and fix it. Great location and a beautiful house. Easily 5 stars if it weren’t for the issues.

Terrific Property in Quiet Location
6 adults in one family had a wonderful 4 nights at this property! **We would definitely return to escape the stress of DC!** Pros: Location, quiet, views, two separate living spaces, comfortable beds, one bedroom and full bath on main floor if you have someone who can't do stairs, nice bath towels, kitchenware was good, jacuzzi for 4, beautiful vaulted wood ceilings, huge DR table for us to spread out for meals and games, plenty of bathrooms, keyless entry, comfortable couches, bright and airy home, surrounded by trees and windows on all 4 sides, walking trail below property, property manager was very nice. Cons: 2 of the burners on the stove didn't work and we had to wait 2 days to get them fixed (property manager said electrician misunderstood directions and didn't enter the property when he saw people were there due to COVID - manager was apologetic and fixed himself on the third day), one lamp in the dim LR was not working, no Tupperware or plastic storage, no hand mixer, no extras like tin foil/wraps, trash must be taken by car to large dumpster by the Wintergreen spa, Evolve rental company was very responsive during inquiry/booking process, but then almost impossible to contact afterwards.

Our family of 4 plus my sisters family of 3 stayed here for three nights. We arrived at the house at 5:30pm to find out the code wouldn't work. There is very limited cell service but I was able to get a hold of property management to get another code. After eating dinner (only 2 burners work) and unpacking we realized we had no hot water. I sent a message the following morning and property management came over to restart the water heater. There wasn't enough towels for everyone but did finally find more in the dryer, which were still damp. The internet kept kicking us off and the jets barely worked in the hot tub. The vents downstairs were closed but even after opening them it never got warm, it really needs its own thermostat down there. I had to reach out to PM two more times, once for instructions on the trash (you have to drive it down the road) and to let them know the hot water went out on our last night. The last thing we wanted to do on vacation before check-out, after paying a cleaning fee, is wash towels, pull bed linens, drive trash off, and put all dishes away. Other homes we've stayed at only have us load the dishwasher and they put them away (which is more sanitary) and sometimes put the trash in outside bins. The house has great potential but needs some attention, especially cleaning the floors, fixing the jets and stove, and changing the filters. Everything else seemed clean and the beds were comfy. We loved the location and the trail behind the house but at this price, you expect a lot more.
