Thumper Cabin at Bunnylane

This is a "Pay it Forward" cabin, I did my part you do yours, "Thank You"

Cabin is approximately 700 square feet. It has a living room with a foldout couch (double), a bedroom with a queen bed, and a bedroom with a double bed. There are curtains at each doorway for privacy.

THERE IS A CENTRAL BATHHOUSE AND An Outhouse located on the property that can be used by all guests in the Cottontail, Thumper and Rabbit Den, The Wild Hare has its own bathroom yet when the water is shut off in the winter months the guests can use the outhouse or bathhouse. The Bathhouse is attached at the end of the yellow timed cabin (Cottontail). It has one shower, one toilet and a sink. There is also an outhouse located at the opposite end of the property (see property layout) for those not wanting to wait for the toilet at the bathhouse. PLEASE, be respectful of all guests and leave clean. Please remind children to do the same.

Off-season 'Winter' is when water is shut off to the cabin and Bathhouse.
This is from Oct 15th till Approx till May 1st.
If the water has been shut off to the cabin, verify water is still on at the Bathhouse that is attached to the Cottontail.

'LEAVE AS FOUND OR BETTER'
THIS IS YOUR HOME AND OTHERS' IN THE MOUNTAINS.
WOOD BOX IS FULL AND READY FOR NEXT GUEST.

Make sure the wood is the type that is dry, and small to medium-sized so those who arrive next can easily start the fire.

THE DISHES ARE CLEAN AND PUT AWAY, AND THE COUNTERS LEFT CLEAN,
FLOORS ARE CLEAN AND ALL RUGS HAVE BEEN SHAKEN OUT AND PUT BACK AS FOUND.
If the floor is wood then sweep, there are brooms and dust pans for you to use. If the floor is carpet then use the vacuum.

ALL GARBAGE HAULED OFF, IF DUMPSTER AVAILABLE THEN PUT IN IT.
DO NOT LEAVE IN CABIN

From May to October there will be dumpster on the property.

OUTSIDE AREA CLEANED UP, THAT INCLUDES ANY BATHROOMS YOU MIGHT HAVE USED.
ANY ITEM NOT DONE WILL BE A $50.00 DEDUCTION FROM YOUR DEPOSIT
COMMENTS ARE APPRECIATED. I CANNOT CONTROL EVERYTHING, AS I LEAVE THAT UP TO EACH OF MY GUESTS

THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! IT IS NICE TO SHARE MY PLACE WITH OTHERS.

I do have internet upon request, I want people to spend time together not by texting but by bonding as the old days. I will give you the password but I do not want down loading movies or streaming music, it will slow or shut down from overuse, business only.
"Do not give to children tell them to play games,puzzles,catch/kick ball, enjoy the out doors"

IT IS SUGGESTED YOU BRING THE FOLLOWING,
Remember, this is your cabin and others in the mountains "Cheers"
Linens or sleeping bags and pillow cases
Towels and dish cloths
Toilet paper and paper towels
Trash Bags
"Provided are pillows and blankets, not pillowcases"

All can be provided for a fee but advanced notice is a must, minimum cost is $25 per bed, includes bedding(top and bottom sheet), 2 pillow cases, 2 towels, 2 wash cloths.

"Fire wood is available for purchase on the property for outside fires"

Each cabin is fully furnished with refrigerator, microwave, popcorn popper, pots, pans, dishes, silverware, coffeepot, toaster, electric hot plates, electric skillets, crock pot, and other misc. kitchen equipment. NO Full Size Oven in this cabin, only cabin with oven is Wild Hare and the Little Dome.

Outside there is a gas grill and a fire pit.

The bathhouse is SHUT DOWN for the winter till April or May, there is an old-time outhouse without running water for your bathroom needs, there's no running water in any of the cabins. There is a hose bib to get water for cooking and washing dishes, we have a bucket under the kitchen sink that you will need to dump.
You can still rent the cabins and go to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs only 5 minutes away (1.5 miles) down the valley for soaking and swimming.
There is an outhouse on the property (see property layout on Bunnylane Cabins Web page)
For Water, there is a well on the property, but I suggest you bring a few gallons of drinking water, if you do not like well water. The well is shown on the property layout.

Cabin price based on 2 people all extra guests and pets are $20 more per pet or guest per night. Make sure you verify all before arrival. This is your home and others in the mountains, surprises are good but not the type that is to sneak one over on Jeff or the other guests on the property. Like you tell me one pet and got 5 , or one guest and I arrive to find a tent and a camper. Thank You,,All and Jeff

If you bring extra guests (people or pets) and did not include when booking it is best you inform Jeff immediately and /or use the drop box on the property located at Jeff's house. If you do not inform Jeff/use the drop box , you will be charged double when leave. This will come out of your damage deposit. That is $20 per night for each and not $10. HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. (OR) you will lose your deposit. I am tired of people not the pets trying to get over on me and me letting it happen. It took two many years to fix these places up, never getting paid and now, I just wanted to be treated as I ask. Thank You Jeff and all honest guests!

In the off season (Approx. Nov 1. to Approx. May 1)the water is shut off to the Thumper , Rabbit Den and Wild Hare cabins. The water is kept on at the bathhouse and the Cottontail.
Verify that water is on or off as in the winter things can change, Welcome to the mountains.

Quaint and quirky

At first we thought . Yikes! But after a couple hours of cleaning we really enjoyed Thumper and Bunny Lane. We're all seniors so the history was a selling point. My wife and her sister thought the cobwebs were something they tried to do their best to eliminate. There were a couple appliances that needed repairs or replacement. An interesting experience that we ended up enjoying

Cozy Cabin

We weren't sure at first, but after 24 hours we realized it was going to be a great week! It kept us warm, dry & helped us make some amazing memories! Quietly tucked away down a CR past the business & even had a fishing pond within walking distance. Saw lots of wildlife too. Would definitely rebook.

An honest to God cabin.

I love the fact that the owner, Jeff, did not try to doll this cabin up. It feels like an authentic cabin, which is a wonderful experience! The wood stove worked great, the kitchen was stocked sufficiently with utensils and appliances. Who needs an oven when you're on vacation?! The communal bath house was very clean and warm. I liked hauling water and chopping kindling. The shrikes and Stellar Jays, nuthatches, flickers and all sorts of other birds sing and cackle to you every morning.

Title: Misleading Listing – Left Without StayingI booked this cabin for two nights but left immediately upon arrival because the property was not as described. The listing says “2 bedrooms, 1 bath,” but the “bath” turned out to be an outhouse and a “bathhouse” located even further away from the cabin. For me, this was a major issue and very disappointing. Bedrooms only have a curtain for privacy separation. The cabin itself had no lock on the door—owner suggests supplying your own which I did not see until arrival and reading check in instructions. The “kitchen” was only an old microwave and two hot plates, with no oven and sink taps are 2 hose bibs coming from outside. The cabin is very rustic, with no insulation, and you are expected to bring your own bedding and clean the cabin yourself for next guests. There are notes all over the inside of cabin and posted outside with warnings about misuse and fines/extra money. There’s a very loud rooster somewhere close in the area.Reading about active mouse problems and being asked to leave trapped mice until the owner dealt with them was unsettling.Overall, this listing did not feel safe or accurately described. I ended up leaving without staying my 2 nights paid. I’ve requested a refund. I would not recommend this property to others.

Thumper Cabin

I enjoyed my stay at the property. It is very quiet and friendly environment. It is close to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs and St. Elmo. Chalk Creek and the small lake right down the road was great for fishing. The cabin was nice and the beds were great. Yes there are notes everywhere but Jeff the owner is extremely nice and helpful! Just take care of the property like it is yours and you will enjoy. The bathroom with a shower was very nice. It was a short walk from the cabin. There is a fire pit and a grill in the yard of the cabin. Definitely will come back! Thank you Jeff!

A serene getaway

We had a mother/ daughter weekend! My daughter flew in from Chicago. It was fabulous! No cell service, so I had her all to myself! I did share her with nature. We went on several hikes, visited St. Elmo, more hikes, went to the hot springs often, so relaxing! We loved the cabin and the surroundings! So peaceful! We both want to come back and bring our family and friends!
