It was not what i paid for, the staff was not understanding and sent me and my wife to an even worse location with roaches the tried to separate us in differnt rooms. It was not at all what it looked like on the website and the breakfast was not included like it said

What a neat place right on the water. Very unassuming and casual international hostile. The private rooms are nice as well. Chef Sherman will cook you some fresh fish, great place to unwind and relax.

Flooding in room next door
Private room that we booked with the expectation of a balcony had no windows, was in the basement, and the room next was flooding so our room and the hallway smelled damp. Luckily we were only there for one short night as we had an early morning flight. Facilities seemed nice, beautiful view and nice resturants were walkable.

We stayed for two nights. Including tax, we paid $470 Canadian (350 USD). It was not good value for money. I sent an email prior to our arrival requesting a room on the top floor. Upon check-in, we were put in a room directly beside the lobby on the main floor. It was extremely loud. The first night, two people were screaming fighting at 1am. The second night, someone was apparently trying to checkin at 6am and continuously yelled “HELLO” at the front desk. A big issue was that there was NO SHOWER in our room. We only had a bathtub. At this price point, there should be a shower.. Also, this was an ocean view room, but due to the fact that our balcony was a common shared area, people were always sitting directly outside our room which meant we had to keep the curtains closed at all times. People were yelling on phone calls on the balcony until late. The sliding glass door was so drafty that we had to stuff the cracks with towels to reduce the draft so the curtains would stay shut. The facilities are very run down. Pros: bus stops directly outside the hotel, there are a few good restaurants within a 5-min walk, beach is very close, staff was pretty friendly. Cons: everything else.

The location of this property was amazing! Right on the water, next to a public beach, near a lot of restaurants (Spritz and twisted Lime are very good!), and it’s very easy to get into downtown Nassau by bus. The beds are comfortable, the staff is very friendly, and there’s plenty to do around. It was also great if you just wanted to lounge and read a book. The facilities could use some investment, especially in the kitchen as well as some furniture upgrades, but overall a very good stay.

The hostel location is great, with a very nice patio and sea views. Bus stop at the front and stores, gym, restaurants at walking distance. Everything was very clean. To improve: WiFi is only available by reception desk and there’s a kitchen but it could use more/new kitchenware.

I loved the view and closeness to the sea. I did not like that they advertised free breakfast and nothing was provided.It cost 10.00 and you had to order it. Plus Air conditioning was out in room, no screens had to open sliding door wall to get air as it was hot and smelled strongly of mold. I had problems breathing and had to leave door open. People were walking by outside and the last night before we left were talking way past when it was supposed to be quiet right outside my bed area..Mere feet away. Anyone could have walked in but had to open for health reasons. Property as a whole needs a facelift.It was once beautiful but is rather run down looking now and a bit shabby.If you are a young backpacker this could be your place but as an older traveler who appreciates the comfort of a clean quiet room it was not a good fit for us.We will not go back. There were many things advertised that were not true. Description of facilities needs updating.

Thelma, chef, and staff felt like family! They ran a quaint, tidy location, a true Oasis with plenty of options to stay near the site and about 20 minutes from downtown Nassau. All the lovely travelers here were pleasant, great company. Loved it here; will come back.

This is the worst accommodation I have ever had. It is substandard by any measure. The toilet barely flushes, the bathtub is clogged. There is no shower, only a hand-held piece on the tub, but there is also no shower curtain so if you use the hand-held piece you spray the whole bathroom. The lighting in the bathroom is inadequate. The room itself is dark, dingy and depressing. It is on the ground floor and gives onto busy West Bay Street. It is furnished with cheap, beat up furniture. The bed is uncomfortable and you can feel the springs. There is a ductless air conditioning unit above the bed which is so noisy with a clinking metallic sound that you can’t use it and even if you could it would blow right on you which would not be comfortable. There is also a ceiling fan with a bare light bulb which is equally noisy and you can’t leave the window open because there is no screen and it is on the ground floor so you don’t know what might crawl in. Besides there is too much traffic noise. For all this they charge $US170/night. They also insist on putting a wrist band on you when you check in as if you were in hospital.

Excellent service from the staff. Bunk was clean and comfortable. Chef and front desk was very nice. Location was good with multiple stores nearby. Overall good experience but it would’ve been nice to have better signage at the entrance. I was dropped off by taxi from airport and once the driver left it was confusing as to where to go. It was hot and I was tired and alone and couldn’t find the entrance. Turns out entrance is tucked away behind a wall and up the stairs which I only realized after circling the building and walking along the shoulder of the road with my luggage. Initial experience was not good but I can see that the property is well maintained and caters well to all guests. Would give 7/10 instead of 10/10 just because of the confusion as to where the entrance was.

I loved that it was right on the beach and right across the street from the gym! Location is amazing! Staff is very nice especially Helen who works the front desk. I love that there is a chef on site for the days that I do not want to cook! You can also do your laundry at this location for a small fee which is an additional bonus!!!

This is the most disappointing place I have ever stayed at. Apart from the facelift the hostel could use (ex. mould on the shower curtains and in the bathroom, not sure when the pools were cleaned last, general maintenance) the staff we dealt with were apathetic, unorganized and not helpful (it was difficult to get a straight answer from them about anything). Good location and you can meet some cool people but the staff and all the issues just killed the vibe for me. I would not recommend. Some examples of issues we ran into: -I booked 2 beds in a mixed dorm room and the lady at the front desk told me I booked them in an all female room. She told me that the system was having issues and next time I should make sure it was put into the system properly... She then turned to another employee and told them that they need to pay more attention as they booked our room wrong in the system. -We bought tickets for dinner. We were told to come between 630 and 8. We got there at 715 and chef told us dinner is done and to come back the next night. The next day we asked what is on the menu and got told that chef is not cooking dinner that night... -We got charged an extra $50 US to upgrade to a single room on top of what we already paid plus the price difference of the 2 rooms. We were put in a mildewy basement. Not even AC remote or soap dispenser worked. -Bring your own lock though they say you can rent/purchase one for $10. They either don't have them or they don't work.

Great beautiful place with lots of room. Ocean view with hammocks and pools. There’s patty’s most nights in the main area that I enjoyed with other backpackers. I’d pick this place over the hotels

I fell in love with this hostel. As someone who stays at hostels often, I can say this one is top notch. It is very clean, the staff are helpful and friendly and they really help you get the best out of your trip. I’m not overly happy that they have pet pigs that are locked up instead of walking around and that the only time they are out is when the tourists pay $50 to swim with them. But this is just made because I’m a huge animal lover. I would have also loved to see vegan breakfast options. The food was phenomenal though...

Disappointing, except for location and view
The location and view are unbeatable. Unfortunately, the owners need to pay way more attention to the upkeep of the facilities and the general demeanor of the people working in the hostel. Toilets were not working, bath tubs were leaking, windows were broken and doors didn't have locks. They also decided to bunch people in the dorm that had non-working toilet in order to save themselves time cleaning extra rooms! Nothing was fixed despite reporting to the front desk. One girl in our dorm who said she was in the same room exactly a year earlier said the bathtub in our dorm was leaking the last time she was there as well -- how do you not fix broken bath tubs for a whole year?

Very nice staff members and house workers. Love the location right on the ocean. Some downsides are that you can't hardly find the entrance to the 2nd level lobby from the streets (MORE SIGNS NEEDED) and building plumbing really sucks because half the time the shower never worked as you had to wait for water pressure to build. Decent location, about 15-20 minute $1.25 bus ride to downtown Nassau. Beaches within walking distance and bars not far. Scenic area and quiet. Good internet connection for those other back packer idiots that stay there and spend all their damn time on their social media (phones) instead of going out. Would definitely stay here again. Cheers!

Gorgeous ocean view but poor dorm conditions
The main (and probably the only) benefit of this hostel is amazing ocean front view with small but nice pools. Neighbordhood felt safe and sort of upscale, but not many things to do other than 5 restaurants. The room itself had air conditioning, but a lot of other things were in poor condition - no door locks at all in all dorms, very humid bathroom with some mold, loud crowds that tend to party late night and could make it hard to sleep, no security or front desk staff after 8 or 9pm, no food or restaurant on site. Given that there is a lack of options for budget travelers for dorms in the Bahamas, it may be an okay option given its beautiful ocean but if you aren’t short of money, elsewhere comfort would be better

This place is amazing, they are proposing so many activities, the hostel is literally feet in the ocean, there is a lot of life just in front of the hostel, so you can do snorkeling with no need to go somewhere else, I love this place and If I come back to the bahamas, I'll book here again 100% sure.
