About this property
Cabin Next to State Park | Hot Tub, Lake Access & Privacy 2BR, 1 BA
Serendipity Park Cabin, as its name suggests, is a lucky discovery on 13 acres next to Brown County State Park. It is surrounded by woods & meadows, hills & valleys, and bottomlands & creeks. Please be aware that all state parks have entrance fees, and guests should have a park pass or pay these fees at an official park gate.
Lake Ogle in the State Park is just 1/4 mile from the cabin. There is a beautiful trail around the lake and another from the lake to the Lookout Tower for a long distant view of Brown County. For a real challenge, try hiking cross-country to Story, a tiny village four miles away with a great restaurant. At night you can hike to the top of the hill and see millions of stars undimmed by light pollution. This cabin is ideally situated for nature lovers so bring walking sticks, boots, binoculars, and cameras.
The exterior of the cabin is faced with hand-hewn logs from a barn which was on the site for over 100 years. There are two porches, one on the sunny south and one on the shady north. Sit on the porches at night and listen for whippoorwills or owls. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub or enjoy the view at the pond. Sit on the front porch during the day to enjoy birds attracted to the spring and creek. A grill and fire pit will add to your enjoyment outside.
The inside of the cabin is very open and light due to the many oversized windows, three skylights, and a vaulted ceiling. Turn on the gas fireplace if it's chilly. Cook a great meal in the fully furnished kitchen. Play board games or watch a show on the smart TV, but don't forget to enjoy the quiet.
When it is time to retire for the night, there are two bedrooms each with a comfortable queen size bed. and one full bath with tub/shower combo.
Share a great fishing lake with the Sister cabin - Lake Forest.
All our cabins have a 3 night minimum for Major Holidays.

If that's not enough, there is easy access to Nashville and Bloomington with their many restaurants, shopping, art galleries, sporting events, and all kinds of entertainment.
Sharing part of the same property is one of our sister cabins, Lake Forest Cabin. While the two cabins are both located on the same 25 acre property, neither house is visible from the other, so your privacy (except shared lake) won't be interrupted. The fact that the cabins share the same property is very handy for families or group of friends who desire two cabins being fairly close together.

We had a great stay at your cabin on our weekend getaway! The view was wonderful and location perfect for what we were looking for. We enjoyed all of our meals at the cabin as it had all that we needed.
Very nice cabin and in a beautiful location. Very clean. Just a few suggestions. 1. Make sure you update the WiFi information in the cabin to reflect the correct information. It was outdated and we didn’t have cell service so I couldn’t call to get the actual WiFi until the 2nd day. You should allow guests to drop the house keys in a lockbox at the property. It’s inconvenient to have to drive all the way back to the office from the cabin. Thank you-
Overall the cabin was well suited for our needs. I don’t think that beds being “different” from what I am used to should count as a negative. One was very firm and the other was very soft and I am more in the middle on my own. The couches were worn and not comfortable due to there own issues. The cabin was nice and well suited to our needs. Plenty of room for the dog to be outside and away from any sort of traffic. Easy drive to all the attractions Nashville has to offer. We would offer the advice of take a fast fast shower or just a bath. Hot water goes out fast. Overall very pleased.
Loved the location for hiking and yet still close enough to town for some shopping while we waited on the rain to stop so we could hit the trails again.
We loved the location, it was very quiet and peaceful. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. My only complaint is that the hot tub needs some repairs , the headrests are gone and only one set of jets work in one seat.
My stay was nice with my family, however the staff member Melanie was horrible to deal with. After our stay we were accused of damaging a rotten fence. Which was a total lie. Melanie told me it didn't matter, that per the policy I was responsible. Any one could have damaged the property, but since I rented it that weekend they charged my debit card for the damages...period. I will never stay with this company again.

good
great location and cabin layout. Could have been cleaner
Nice, clean and private cabin at the very end of the road. For a small cabin it was large inside with the open concept. Laid out very nicely with bedrooms and bathroom being very roomy also. Loved the rustic look and architecture of the whole thing! Huge back yard with a little walk to a private lake behind it. Just wish they had continued mowing around the lake to make it easier access to fishing. Had to cast over about 3 foot weeds to the lake. Didn’t understand why they didn’t chop down another few yards to the lake. The back yard was a big bonus for our two dogs to romp around in and not worry about them escaping because of the trees and privacy. Just a suggestion, maybe just mow the lawn a little shorter and more evenly because it would greatly help furry dogs legs from getting wet and dragging grass inside the cabin. Not a big deal but an easy fix. Another plus was having the back door which was great to let the dogs out easily. Just one more suggestion, please have instructions for the TV and satellite operation (and paper TV guide to view to avoid flipping through the guide). People that don’t have DISH TV like us, might not be familiar with it. My only complaint was that the bedroom TV was connected to the main TV so you had to watch the same channel all the time which was annoying. I am sure there is a way to change that so instructions would have been helpful. Overall it’s a quaint, very clean cabin and we would definitely stay there again!
Secluded yet close to everything. We were able to walk to hikes, fish from the backyard, take a short drive to canoe along with everything the cabin had to offer. It was perfect! We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay for our getaway!
House was beautiful and super clean.
The house is in an amazing location. Just a short walk through the woods to Lake Ogle.
Back yard has a hot tub and a perfect spot to gaze for wildlife. Gas grill made it easy to grill up meals.
We saw no one except when we went to the State Park.
A perfect getaway.
My daughters and I wanted a quick getaway from the Covid isolation. We loved how close this was to Brown County State Park. The property was very clean, the appliances and bathtub were new looking. The views from both the front and back porch were beautiful. We had a wonderful time.
