One thing I liked very much much about our room was the great lighting. We had a queen bed suite, and every cubic inch of the room was adequately covered by one or more lights, either from a lamp or overhead lighting. You'd be surprised how many rooms have dark spots when it comes to lighting; in fact, I am currently writing this in a room in a different hotel (not an IHG) where the lighting is okay but not as good as the Staybridge in South Naples.
There is always room for improvement, though, even when 5 stars are awarded. The one thing I did not like about the room is that the toilet did not have a lid. I am in my 70s, and I used to see these types of toilets in hotel rooms in my younger days. But I probably hadn't seen one in almost 20 years before my stay here. With the towel rack right over the toilet, I was constantly concerned that I'd drop a towel into the toilet by accident. Since this hotel is only about five years old, it will likely be a while before it is renovated, but when the time finally comes, I recommend that the toilets that get installed have lids.
