Spacious and clean room but of older styles and conditions.
Staff were excellent and very welcoming.
Dinner and breakfast were superb and traditional Japanese style set meals.
Hot spring baths (both inside and outside) were of excellent traditional styles and not shared with other guests.
The main minor issue was that you cannot drive directly to the door because of narrow road access. We need to park somewhere at the main road and the staff would transport us and luggages to the hotel. Not a...

The staff were so polite and the accommodation provided a true Japanese experience. The included dinner (kaiseki) and breakfast (Japanese style) wearing our yukatas were true highlights.

The tourist information at Yufuin train station was very helpful in providing us with directions to the hotel. You can catch a taxi but we decided to walk the 20 mins as we were early for our check-in and it gave us a chance to explore along the way. The ryokan is about 10 mins walking distance to the shops. We enjoyed the view of local residential houses, river and the amazing view of Yufu mountain as we walk down to the shops. The host was friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were superb.
