Cousins week

Great stay! The house has lots of kitchen supplies, there is so much space, lots of seating which was so nice for family dinner. Close to the beach and lots of things to do. House was very clean!!! Loved it!!

Excellent Property

My husband and I stayed at the property with our two adult children. There is so much space to be comfortable inside and outdoors. The kitchen is large and equipped with everything you could possibly need to cook meals. Having all of the beach gear and wagon at the house was an added bonus! There were plenty of games and puzzles to enjoy in the evenings and on rainy days. The owner responded quickly to messages and we would definitely stay at this property in the future.

Family Vacation

We had a great stay at the house and the layout fit our needs. We loved the decks, its close proximity to the beach, shopping and the wonderful attractions nearby. The house is very well outfitted with everything needed with many toys, games, puzzles to amuse the children. The listing originally did not state that linens would be an additional charge and Jon addressed to our satisfaction. Our party consisted of four adults and our four children in the age range of 5-21. Everyone had a great time enjoying the amenities of the property especially the pool table. The addition of the hot tub was also a very nice surprise. Jon was very prompt to respond to any questions or concerns.

Had the best time, can’t wait to go back!

I traveled to OBX with my husband and son and stayed at The Short Stack with my best friend and her family. This house was fantastic. It easily fit both our families and 3 kids with a bedroom to spare. Great location with short walking distance to a private beach. House was stocked with umbrellas and chairs and a wagon which was super helpful since we flew down to OBX and couldn’t bring our own beach stuff. We used the house YMCA passes to bring the kids to the pool. Everything was clean and we got to take advantage of a brand new hot tub!! Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed (accept a working salt shaker). Especially loved the front patio. The adults would sit out there with our morning coffees on the patio furniture in the shade. House had lots of great space to gather both upstairs, down stairs and outside. Can’t say enough about how much we loved our stay here. Thank you Short Stack!

Perfect location for family vacation!

Our family had the BEST time at short stack! The house was clean and comfortable in a quiet neighborhood. The layout was perfect for our group of 3 adults and 3 kids and there was still an unused bedroom downstairs, so we could have easily accommodated more grandparents, friends, etc. There is a spacious kitchen both upstairs and downstairs with plenty of room to cook and eat. The outdoor space is exceptionally varied as well across three levels, with a covered patio area to grill and eat, plus two large balconies with plenty of seating to enjoy the sunrise while watching the birds or catch up on some sunbathing. The three bathrooms are spacious and updated and the living areas are large enough for a group to gather. There was plenty of room to spread out throughout the house too when we needed some downtime. The house was well equipped with books, fun board games and puzzles, a pool table (with cues for the little ones), all the beach gear you could need if you don’t bring your own, and baby/toddler items. The central Nags Head location was fantastic! You can easily fill up your vacation with all of the great restaurants, coffee, ice cream, shopping, and fun activities that are within 5-10 minutes of the house. The beach access was very easy as the house is right next to a crosswalk with a stoplight. The closest beach access doesn’t have parking and is not near hotels or large condos so there was plenty of space without the crowds. We will definitely be going back!
