"100% the best option. Choosing to spend a night in Flam (basically a cruise port) or Voss (new built town for sporty types) or Gudvangen, we chose the spectacular scenic tranquility of the Gudvangen Fjordtell and one of their Viking Room. Wow! This was so cool! Skylights let you gaze up at the mountain tops and stars at night. The bed very comfy, the decor made you feel you're in Norway, the shower excellent, cozy temps We arrived from Flam via the Ferry at 16:45, walked 2 minutes to hotel, lovely reception, shop, bar, dining room. Once we checked in, went to have a couple pints & a fish n chips dinner in their great dining room also with skylights everywhere. In the morning the included buffet breakfast was excellent! Had time to enjoy and evening stroll and a morning stroll. 11:40 am we caught the local bus right in front of the hotel for a 50 min ride to the Voss train station. Staff were super friendly and super helpful with everything. 100% this is a great choice!"

"Staff were super accommodating and friendly. We arrived at 5 am and the offered to turn the lights down in the lounge so we could sleep. Let us store our luggage until we could get our room and when we left for a day trip. Food was wonderful as well. "

"Of our 2 weeks in Norway, this was our least favorite stay. The beds were tucked away upon arrival, so we had to set up and put bedding on beds. Made sense though, because when set up, there is no room to walk to use bathroom, kitchenette or balcony. The beds were not comfortable and the pool wasn’t working, so we didn’t enjoy our visit."

"Staying in this incredible home in Finnabotn was the highlight of our Norway vacation. This "secret" branch of the Sognefjord offers a truly authentic, off-the-grid experience. There is no road access so we rented a boat—the only way to get here—through Vik Adventures and the journey itself was part of the adventure, a scenic 25 to 45-minute ride on the fjord from Vikøyri, depending on conditions.The home itself is a quiet, rustic retreat with some modern updates, preserved to maintain its historical features as part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The scenery is absolutely stunning, with enormous waterfalls serving as a backdrop. We spent our time exploring the area, hiking to the top of the mountain where the waterfalls begin, and enjoying the wild berries. We boated to Balestrand for dinner one night. Every evening, we'd sit on the dock listening to the sounds of the falls. This is a perfect escape for anyone looking for an authentic, off-the-beaten-path experience. NOTE: you need to pack your groceries, as there are no stores nearby!"
