Muskegon River Cabin
Welcome to our cabin on the Muskegon River. Our 1400 square foot cabin is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin that has recently been updated. Enjoy the feel of a traditional Michigan cabin on the river with modern comforts. There is plenty of room to stretch out and relax in the den overlooking the river or upstairs in the entertainment room. The entertainment room has a foosball table, dart board and futon sleeper (full size) if you need additional sleeping space.
We do have high-speed fiber internet (wifi) if you want or need to be reached; otherwise, enjoy the solitude of the woods and river. While the inside of the cabin is comfortable and enjoyable, we can't compete with the beautiful scenery and wildlife outside. Enjoy fishing from the 200' of river frontage that is a few steps off of the porch.
If you want to canoe/kayak/tube, this is an easy great location. You can chose short or medium length trips from upstream at either the Hersey bridge or from Evart, or you can float downstream to Paris or Big Rapids. There is an electric mini-split unit and a window unit downstairs and an AC unit upstairs if needed. We are in the woods, so we have nice fresh cold well water. Whether you are traveling to see family, looking for a base for hunting season, enjoying opening weekend of trout season, or simply want a quiet weekend away, we hope you find our cabin as comfortable and relaxing as we do. You will find the following amenities: Full functioning kitchen (full size refrigerator and stove, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, plates, silverware, pots, pans, skillets, etc.) Full size bathtub and shower Hot and cold water Smart TV, DVD player Foosball Table, Dart Board and some indoor games Heat and air conditioning Dining table (view of river) Couch and 2 recliners (with view of river) 2 full size beds and 1 full size futon mattress fresh linens (towels, washcloths, sheets, comforters, dishtowels) - please bring your own towels for use on the river Gas Grill Fire pit with firewood If you bring clothes, food and drinks, and you will survive and be happy! If you don't want to cook, it is a short drive to Hersey, Evart, Reed City and Big Rapids. We love animals, but unfortunately have allergies in the family, so pets aren't allowed.

Everything was as advertised, super place, super host!! Very clean and cute. Close to stuff, but yet plenty of piece and tranquility. Will stay again!!!
The internet worked well, everything was comfortable, and we were impressed with the little things--including having some movies, games, and personal care items available for us!
Love the peace and quiet. Everything you need is here. Very nice and clean. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and listening to the stream of the river! Love this cabin we will be back!
This was a peaceful, beautiful place. My son needs low stimulus due to a car accident he had in 2013. Everything about this place has our Lord's fingerprint on it
My friend and I took a long weekend and stayed here. The hosts were great and quick to respond. The kitchen was well stocked, the games were a lot of fun and the river view was incredible. There was lots of wood stocked to have a fire. Rafts and rope for floating the river were provided (just a bit too chilly for that when we stayed). We went fishing everyday, it was very quiet and peaceful. Loved it!
The location was excellent for a family trip. The house was nicely clean and fresh upon checking in. A lot to do! We enjoyed Fishing, tubing, kayaking, grilling, and the camp fire. The host was very informative and provided clear instructions. We will be returning and staying here at least twice a year!
The only thing I wish I had access to is a washer and dryer. After the outdoor activities it would be nice to do some laundry. But overall a great experience and I give it five stars.
We enjoyed our stay. It was quite & peaceful. We were able to sit on the porch & watch the river flow by. We kayaked down to the property & it was a little tricky to get out there, so that could be improved. But it was a beautiful river trip! The bathroom is pretty dated but it was clean so we were ok with it. The Keurig did not work right so we contacted the homeowner and they delivered a new Keurig that day (thank you). We didn’t care for the fact we had to haul the bag of trash hanging out our window down the lane to the road. But, overall satisfied with our stay.
When you turn off the gravel road onto your eighth mile gravel path driveway, you start to realize that you are really heading for peace and relaxation. There is one other cabin within sight, and other than that, all you'll see is Forest and river. We spent many hours fishing the bank and wading, but due to a very strong current, possibly due to strong rains, a few small mouth bad was all we could manage. But we had a blast trying.
The cabin is basic and rustic, although the Wi-Fi worked great and the two large-ish TVs, one up, one down, were great. Comfortable beds (queen? full? Didn't have a tape measure to measure the 6" difference). Futon upstairs as well. Very comfortable for this 60 year old and two adult sons guy trip.
All amenities and kitchen devices very well provided. Evening seemed very clean, although you can tell you're in the middle of a forest next to a river in an older home, humidity is obvious. Air conditioning up and down want needed much on our trip but seems adequate should a hot snap hit we enjoyed the many provided fans however.
Deck out back (front?) has a beautiful view of the forest and nearby river. From a distance river looks muddy, but it's stained and actually quite clear. However be aware that, if you wade in the river there are submerged slippery rocks, both my boys till one tumble each before they got the hang of it.
If the weather was hotter, it would have been a delight to arrange a tube trip down the river! Loved it
Everything was wonderful! I would definitely recommend staying here for your little getaway! 🤩

The property was out in the middle of nowhere which is exactly what we were looking for!!! Just watching that river go by on a perfect weather weekend was truly blissful. Thank you again!!!
We loved this house and the surroundings! It was a wonderful house right on the river as pictured. Three great access points up river so we could kayak (or tube). Can't wait to visit again.
If you want a river experience - this is it! Great place, great location, lots to do -- loved it! Three places up-river to put in if you kayak or tube.
We can't say enough about how great this place is. We came here twice this year and a family member booked a separate trip as well. Great spot, everything you need and lots to do. The hosts' communication was some of the best I've ever had -- they really make sure you're kept informed and feel welcome.
This is a great place to stay if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Has all of the amenities that you need for a short visit. Cabin was clean and updated. River view was beautiful and within steps of the cabin.
