"My grandsons enjoyed an evening in the pool. We had it all to ourselves. Breakfast was nice hot food. Eggs, biscuits, gravy, breakfast potatoes ,waffles. Beds were very comfortable."
"The owners son works most of the time and is a very abusive alcoholic. There is NO free breakfast, he keeps the lobby locked and refuses access, ice machine is broken, room was filthy and unclean, refrigerator had mold a NC d spilled food inside x paint peeling off the walls , etc. This is a REALLY BAD place!"

"With spaces for private reflection and public comfort spaces galore, we had lots of chances to connect as a family or to hide away for personal space. There was easy access to the lake and plenty of tools to allow enjoyment by all. Seating for many in the shade of a gazebo, lounge chairs in the sun, a plethora of floating devices, kayaks, paddleboard and tubes, with life jackets to fit all sizes. The fenced yard provided security if needed, and a level area for yard games, fire pit with a supply of wood even! We decided against this because of the heat and took relief in the water, shady screened porch or very comfortably air conditioned home. Lots of comfortable bathroom access and bedroom layout provided quiet sleeping and accommodated different schedules easily. Downstairs game room was great! Seating and tables were provided in all areas so we had plenty of space. Thoughtful extras in closets and cabinets helped if we forgot anything essential. So nice to have covered parking for 2 cars!"
"My boyfriend and I did a brief staycation here and absolutely loved it! It is pet friendly so we were able to bring the dogs and enjoy the lake. It’s also close to a few hiking trails around the lake which was perfect for us. The porch seating options were perfect for relaxing or working from home while checking out the view. Hosts were very communicative as we were getting ready for our trip. "

"Our stay at Mallard Cottage was lovely. The lake was quiet, which made for such a relaxing stay. We were able to launch our kayaks, and paddle boards so easily. The kids could launch the kayaks on their own. The cottage looked just like the pictures in the listing. We had everything we needed, and more. The hosts we so kind, and quick to respond. We will definitely be back!"
