This beautiful “A-Fame” cabin is similar to others you will find in the area. It is large enough to host more than our family of 4 adults. It is about 25 to 30 minutes to either Murphy, NC or Blue Ridge, GA and nearly on the NC/TN line. The whitewater river launch in TN is only 25 minutes West. We enjoyed 5 nights here and used the home as base to travel to Chattanooga, Amicalola Falls Park and some other more primitive trails and falls towards Blairsville, GA. The home was well stocked with paper goods and other necessities like trash bags. The HVAC worked well and we were comfortable even though the outdoor temperatures were up in the nineties and very humid several days. I agree with previous posts that the very large deck area could use more than three chairs since the home is advertised for six occupants. The deck area is huge and could accommodate many more chairs. We were disappointed to find about six plates and several knives and forks that never made the dishwasher (responsibility of the last tenant) and were put away dirty right at the top of the stack (not even wiped down). Again, not the land company issue, but a spot check by cleaners may have prevented this. Hughes Net (Internet) was down all week (it’s not guaranteed, per agreement, and we understood that). Be aware that at least our Verizon Wireless data service was poor all week at the home. We could make phone calls if needed and the home has a land line if emergency or other services were needed. We often had to hold our phones a certain way to get text messages. Forget using social media high on the mountain. That for us was a welcome break! As for the other comments 1) about the key lock-box not on location and 2) the mountain driveway: the on-site lockbox, I imagine, is for cleaners. One can’t expect every home to have the code turned for each guest as many of these locations are a significant drive from the company offices that oversee these mountain properties. As for the drive up, I’d recommend finding the home before dark once you get your key and the community access code for the gate. Do this the first time, especially if you are a flat-land Florida driver like me. The road becomes quite narrow and the last few hair-pin turns on the final gravel approach are very steep, in my opinion. I would also not want to pull a trailer up that winding road as the other commenter warned. The rental is a good value. My dealings with the property manager company was A+.
