Enjoy hanging out with family or friends on the covered front porch of this cozy mountain cabin situated right on the Chauga River. You will find this is the perfect launching spot for all the outdoor adventures Upstate SC has to offer. Your days can be spent exploring miles of hiking trails, scenic waterfalls, world-class trout fishing, whitewater rafting, local wineries and breweries, or just relaxing in the quiet by a nighttime firepit.

This 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin is well appointed for simple pleasures and is decorated in an eclectic, vintage style. This is the perfect spot to get away from it all, but a short drive to everything!

You’ll have access to the entire space when you’re staying at “The Happy Place”. A large spacious yard and direct access to the Chauga River to enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities.

Perfect remote cabin!

We had a fantastic stay at this cabin with our dogs. The cabin is remote and secluded so it was peaceful and relaxing. We caught several trout and enjoyed our stay. There is a Market DG within 10 minutes of the cabin for any small needs you may have. Loved the location & cabin—would visit again.

A Peaceful Retreat

Cabin in the mountains

The cabin and the property were very relaxing and loved the property. It is set back in the mountains. The GPS directions is wrong so follow the directions from the owner.

Truly a “Happy Place”!!!

I feel so very lucky that I came across this rental for my daughter and my granddaughter and myself we had the most glorious time. The cabin is so well appointed beautifully clean lovely location just can’t say enough great things about this. Will definitely be back over and over again, thank you happy place for wonderful memories

Much needed R & R

Everything was just as advertised. The cabin was so quiet and comfy; everything worked perfectly and the kitchen was well stocked with the pots, pans, utensils and everything else I needed for cooking meals. The directions were spot on and the host was super responsive - I'll be back for sure!

Easter Weekend Stay

The property was a little hard to find, but we got there. There is no service, but once you connect to the WiFi its fine. Secluded, but in the best way possible. Hiking and sightseeing within a couple miles. Stores are about 10 miles away. The home was perfect and we wouldn't have changed a thing. Neighbor dog came across the river, but was friendly. Couldn't find an outside trash can or dumpster. Looking forward to our next stay.

Winter Getaway

Beautiful little cabin! Everything one could possibly need was provided. Most important to me is a comfortable bed, that I got! First time to this area and it will not be our last. Cabin was in a great location to hike many waterfalls in the area. The only improvement I would suggest is to put the WiFi information in your information book. We had to call to find where it was located. After a quick phone call we were told it was on the back of a card on side of fridge. Just needs to be more visible. Wonderful week in a wonderful cabin! We will definitely be making a trip back to Happy Place.

The Happy Place cabin in Mountain Rest SC

The cabin was nice and clean, the property was quiet and located next to a little stream which was nice to listen to while sitting on the front porch. Good proximity to Walhalla and to various hikes with numerous waterfalls.

It was a wonderful little cabin, we enjoyed our stay very much. Management neglected to update the listing title as the dock no longer exists. There is access to the river but no dock. We loved the location and the peace of the river.

Lovely place! It's a super cute place to stay with everything we needed. The only thing I would let others know is that there is no dock as of our stay in June 2025. Getting down to the water isn't the easiest its pretty steep so we didnt get to enjoy the river like I had hoped when I originally booked it.
