Designed for 1 to 4 adults visiting the area for exploring nature, retreats, visiting sacred sites, and those looking for a special place to call home after experiencing all that Mount Shasta has to offer. You will be nestled in a quiet picturesque neighborhood where the views and nature’s blessings here will capture your heart. Only a few minutes to town, yet far enough where won’t hear the train or town noise. 20 min. to Ski Park and Sledding!

Attached to the main home where we live upstairs with our small dog "Clyde", this ground floor unit is completely private, stays at a cool comfortable temperature, has dedicated seating with beautiful views of Mount Shasta, a two person hammock for relaxing, reading, and is great for stargazing!

Your unit has an open floor plan with a well appointed kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms with queen size memory foam mattresses, 1 bathroom with standard size shower. The kitchen has a nice view of Black Butte and plenty of light which can also be used as a work space if you're working remotely. You will have over 200mpbs of high speed internet, and since most guests use their own devices for streaming and entertainment we do not have a TV. The tap water here has been tested and is completely safe to drink. As a treat, you will be provided with crystal clear spring water from the mountain, coffee made locally here in Mount Shasta, and a variety of Yogi teas for you to enjoy.

This is NOT a party space, and a non-smoking property inside and out. Prefer non (or very light) drinkers. The unit is not ideal for small children... it’s not “childproof”. PETS: please tell me about your pet. Fee is $125

Winter fun at Ski Park and the Nordic center are only 20 minutes away. Hiking and biking trails are just around the corner from the house. The yard is a work in progress as we are creating various areas for our guest to enjoy. Currently we have a meditation area, a walking labyrinth, and will be planting tons of flowers throughout the season. So you might see me working in the yard at times...interaction with host is at your discretion.

There is trash can located under the back deck of the main house. Please dispose of all trash before checking out.

Shut off all lights/heat, and please leave the keys on the kitchen table.

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

We thoroughly enjoyed The House of Light. The place was perfect for a relaxing stay. We enjoyed venturing out for hikes and visits during the day and having a quiet, comfortable, and spacious place to land at the end of the day. Sitting at the terrace with a view of Mount Shasta was an extra gift. Michael was great and available if we needed anything or had a question.

Shasta Experience that won’t disappoint

We stayed in this clean, well-equipped two-bedroom apartment with a stunning direct view of Mt. Shasta right outside the house. It had everything we needed for a comfortable and peaceful stay. We came seeking a spiritual experience, and this place truly delivered—calm, serene, and perfectly located. Highly recommended for anyone looking to recharge and connect with the beauty of Mt. If you want to go to Mt Shasta and bask in the energy of the Magic Mountain then the House of Light is the place to go. Michael has created a magical apartment that you will feel Mt Shasta's energy the minute you walk in. The house is located at 3,0000 ft and you have a spectacular view of Shasta's Peak. The grounds also spectacular and we walked the perfect Labyrinth Michael constructed.The apartment itself was created with his guests' purpose in mind. There are spectacular paintings and statues, books and cards. It was extremely clean, included all the necessities and there was even Shasta spring water available. My wife and I felt different the minute we walked in. We felt peaceful, hopeful and full of Shasta's light. We spent 4 days and 3 nights there and we could not thank Michael enough for all the thought and purpose he has created for his guests.If you are looking to walk into the light, this is the place for you.

We had such a great time in this beautiful, super clean, welcoming home. Michael, the host, is a very caring person. The backyard he created is a piece of art! You can tell he does everything with love. The view on Mt. Shasta from the backyard is spectacular! We loved to sit on the outdoor couch and enjoy the view. One morning we saw a family of deer in the backyard. That was exciting! We experienced a state of calmness, peacefulness, and tranquility while staying in this amazing home. Thank you, Michael! We can’t wait to come back!
