"This was a last-minute trip for my husband and I. We chose this location because of the high ratings and appearance of the cabin. The cabin is clean, beautiful and comfortable. It is in a small town, not too far from local restaurants, a gas station, the great Mississippi River, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the free ferry 5 minutes from the cabin which you can drive on to get across the river to Iowa. My husband and I spent the day riding around a beautiful trail and then came back around lunch time. The following day we entered one of the many reasonable boat docks to cruise around the Mississippi. I am an avid birder and photographer. I was amazed to see so many Bald Eagles, sitting not too far off the lake on fallen trees. One thing I want to let others know is that is it situated between a main highway and railroad track. Since it was the two of us, I was not particularly concerned about the highway due to the population yet the train coming through every 30 minutes day and night was a bit unnerving initially. My saving grace was the box fan I bring for background noise and also a set of earplugs. That is what I suggest for all who are sensitive to noise. Given the fact it is a side-by-side duplex, we had neighbors, but they were very nice and respectful. We chatted briefly and did not hear any loud noises at night and for the most part stayed to ourselves. As long as you prepare for the train, all should go well for your trip."
