Less than 24 hours of getaway in this sunny little house was enough time to relax, make good use of the sauna, and enjoy the quiet of a farm in a little wooded valley.
Lovely, quiet, close enough to stuff to do but far enough to get some peace.
Loved everything about the property and the surrounding areas. With minimal effort could get to Mt. Horeb, Madison, and Middleton and had plenty to do when I didn't just feel like relaxing in the cabin.
We only spent one night, but it was enough to feel the magic of this spot! The sauna, cold tub, simple/functional space were incredible. We had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We can't wait to come back!
This place is a gem. It is such a unique little abode and a perfect place to spend a snowy early spring day. We loved the sauna and cozy room. We left feeling so relaxed and refreshed! Can't wait to come back !
This is my third trip to the sauna house, and it never disappoints. The property is beautiful and the cabin is so sweet. The wood-fired sauna makes for such a deeply relaxing get-away. I can’t recommend this place enough. The hosts are also very responsive and kind. Such good energy here. Grateful for my stay!
What an amazing little property! The cabin is cozy, cute, and after staying in one with a wood-fire stove sauna and soaking tub I don't want to stay in a place that does NOT have those amenities. Beautiful countryside and short drives to towns, hiking, and other interests in area.
I absolutely LOVED this rustic, secluded home! We spent evenings outside listening to the cicadas, crickets and frogs. With no TV or electronics, we simply enjoyed serenity and connection with nature and its creatures. I will absolutely stay here again.
The house is lovely, exactly as described in the listing. Close enough to Blue Mound State Park to go enjoy a peaceful hike, and close enough to town where I could go get a beer and cheese curds. The bed is huge and very comfortable. I spent most of my time reading and just enjoying the calm of sitting on the porch. Also had delicious dinner with some added fresh veggies & herbs from the farm (thank you again!) I hope to stay here another time.
We arrived just after sunset and were greeted by a beautiful field of fireflies. The sauna house is incredibly charming and comfortable. It is located on an organic farm in a private area with walking paths around. We contacted the owners ahead of time to request fresh vegetables so we could make a stir fry while we were there. They were very accommodating, accepted Venmo for the request, and we had a lovely dinner and extra for our travels. The bed was comfortable and the sauna was a special treat. I would have loved to stay longer and can't wait to go back.
we really enjoyed our time in the sauna house! it was a great experience getting to learn how to get the sauna going. :) lots of sitting and sweating!!! we used the kitchen to its fullest extent & even brought our record player to add to the ambiance. cold tub was rejuvenating. super quaint. super lovable. we’ll be back <3
This was a nice cabin experience. It is a cabin though, so bring food in containers. IYKYK. The sauna takes awhile to heat up, so plan ahead on your time, we didn't and missed out. The bed is very elevated, so I wish there had been a step stool. It is however one of the most comfortable beds ever. There is no mirror in the cabin, so may want to bring a hand held. There is a sign at the driveway but nothing after that. Once you turn into the property, the road to park for the cabin is to the left. There is a mowed area to park across from the red barn right as you approach the barn. There was someone parked in the spot next to the fence and another outbuilding next to the owners home so figuring out where to park was confusing. They have solar lights that line the path to the cabin but they don't work, so make sure you bring flashlights. There are no chairs outside of the cabin for lounging in nature, so bring camp chairs if you want. I would stay there again, but it will be more enjoyable knowing the things mentioned above.
Very unique property. Quiet and restful, great sleeping bed and easy going.
Reason I could not five star the stay is because:
- upon arrival there was a dirty diaper in the bathroom and when you are paying a $30 (I think) cleaning fee that just seems very wrong, and
- It was a very hot day, and as there is no AC in the unit, a small fan would make it more pleasant on a hot summer day.
Maybe would not do a repeat summer stay but winter looks promising.
If you’re someone who likes to indulge in relaxation but feels like a space alien in a fancy spa environment, look no further. You can play outside in the forests and trails all day then apply your mud masks when the sun goes down. Sipping wine in the solitude of the sauna house with no time limits, service constraints, or logistical planning around my time to unwind was total perfection and I really hope to come back soon. The town of Mt. Horeb nearby is just splendid and I had so much fun exploring. Lots of lovely local businesses with friendly shopkeepers and real artisanal, wholesome goods. Doesn’t get any better than that. Now I wasn’t completely alone- there were more than a few ladybugs hanging out with me during my May visit, especially once the sun went down- but it’s nothing out of the ordinary for a rustic stay and didn’t really change anything about my visit. I can’t wait to come back again as the sauna and the soaking tub really put the ”glam” in “glamping”. :)

It was ok, but not worth the money. Paper towel, body and hand soap,.shampoo and toilet paper were empty. We had to go to a store to get some. Some of the lights were not working, and one of the plates had food on it from previous person. Mirror was broken on floor (we told owners). Sauna was very cute, but it was too hot for us to use. There is no shower, but rather a soaking tub in the kitchen with no walls. Not a problem for a couple, but definitely not for a family or friends. Its on an organic farm and grounds are nice to walk around. They have a small "you pick" garden so guests can take some flowers home. No tv, but wifi was working. Very quiet and birds sounded nice. It was quite hot and humid, despite being a straw house. Definitely should offer a small fan to move the air. The linens/bedding were damp from humidity. $200.00 (including cleaning fee) seemed just too much money for what you got. I think with some small changes..it could really be a gem.
