This area is largely pedestrianised, with cobbled streets, historic Ottoman-era buildings, and numerous restaurants and small shops. While not all accommodations within the Old Town are pet-friendly due to their historic nature and smaller size, many guesthouses and boutique hotels in the streets just outside the core historic area are welcoming to pets. For couples traveling with a pet, staying near the Old Town provides easy access to the city's main sights and a wide selection of dining options. You'll be able to enjoy strolls along the Neretva River and through the historic bazaar, with plenty of opportunities for your pet to get some exercise. Many pet-friendly places here are smaller, family-run establishments, offering a more personalised experience.Solo travellers with a pet will also find the areas just outside Mostar's Old Town very convenient. These spots offer a good balance of being close to the action while potentially having more space or dedicated facilities for pets.

While Mostar offers many wonderful sights, dedicated pet-friendly activities are not widely established in the same way as in some larger European cities. However, you can certainly enjoy exploring the city's outdoor areas with your pet.The Old Bridge area and the cobblestone streets around it are superb for a leisurely stroll with your pet, allowing you to soak in the historic atmosphere. Just be mindful of crowds, especially during peak times, as the area can get quite busy. There are plenty of outdoor cafes with seating where you might be able to relax with your pet by your side. For a more extended walk, the areas along the Neretva River offer pleasant pathways. Heading a little further out from the immediate Old Town, you'll find more green spaces where your pet can enjoy a bit more freedom, always on a lead, of course. For example, the area around the Mostar City Park is generally relaxed and offers open spaces. When planning your trip, consider booking accommodation that explicitly welcomes pets. Many guesthouses and some hotels are happy to accommodate well-behaved animals, which will make your stay much more comfortable.
