White wine grapes make up the majority of the area’s vineyard surface. The heart of the Moselle is the Mittelmosel region, with Piesport and Bernkastel producing namesake wines. The area is an unofficial region comprising the wine provinces of Mosel-Saar-Ruwer and Nahe. It is on the border with Luxembourg in the southwestern part of Germany. Fly to Frankfurt and travel west for about 100 miles (160 kilometers) to get here. Travel within the region by train.
