The gem museum, gem mine, Celtic settlement were great trips and the open-air swimming pool in Rhaunen was much enjoyed. We visited Herrstein twice! Klaus and Anna were really helpful hosts. Die Wohnung hatte leider deutliche Mängel.Im Bad war der Toilettendeckel lose und an der Dusche hing einverdrecktes Handtuch.Im Flur fiel nach aufhängen einer Jacke der Haken aus der Wand. Im Kühlschrank befanden sich noch Getränke und Essensreste. Polster der küchenstühle sind stark verschmutzt oder beschädigt. Im Schlafraum sind die Steckdosen teilweise ohne Funktion und die Sessel ebenso am Polster verschmutzt..Im Wellnessbereich ist die Beleuchtung...

"Fabulous from start to finish! Welcome drink on arrival, early access to our room which was in the cottage, we ate in the restaurant, the food was very good, staff very attentive and lovely wines. Swimming pool was great and the sauna. Great location and will definitely stay again."

"Just back from a visit to Idar-Oberstein. Parking was easy, I arrived after 10pm so reception was closed but a staff member was able to quickly get me checked in. Room was perfect for my stay. Hotel is close to the Felsenkirche and castles. The Norma shop is 2 minutes walk away and there are several places to eat in the square."

"When I booked this hotel I had no idea what to expect as I was ment to be going to Luxembourg but that hotel canceled on me so at the last minute I booked here as it looked so lovely. And I was not disappointed, I had no idea on the area or what to see or do. But once I got here the idea is to do nothing. Yes you can bike around or go on wine tasting but you can also sit and do nothing. That is what this place and hotel gives you. Peace and serenity. The staff are absolutely amazing and I need an extra night and they did their best to fit me in. I was so grateful. I did not taste the wine as I don’t drink but I saw many other visitors enjoying it. The breakfast was exceptional and just what you need to start up your day. The room and large and clean and have all you need to sleep and relax I was kindly offered a balcony room and that was just perfect for me. I could watch the world go by. I slept soundly and really enjoyed my time here. Will certainly come back. The manager (owner?) is second to none! Truly lovely lady. "

"Staff were nice and helpful, though didn’t fix soap dispenser after i asked. There were things unexplained and it made the stay a little challenging. No drawers or closets for clothes in the rooms made it difficult to arrange clothing during the stay, shower only made the whole floor wet and other users of the bathroom have to walk on wet tile floor and use same wet floor towel. Breakfast was good but a little expensive 14€, even if you only drink one coffee and eat one croissant. Did not try the restaurant at lunch but the menu looked good. Pretty area but next to a dry cleaners and some kind of factory, but there is a supermarket across the street."
