This location will always hold a piece of my heart, it's a little known spot found driving the forest service roads in the Coconino National Forest out near Flagstaff, AZ. From this location you can see all the way out to Sedona. There is BLM camping in the area and my favorite campsite isn't far from where this photo was taken. I've recently moved away from the Southwest, but this view will ever tug at my heartstrings... One of our favorite ways to explore on a budget is driving down forest service roads. Some of them lead nowhere, and others of them lead to dramatic scenic locations like this... This secret little spot is one we'd heard of but didn't have directions to out in the Coconino National Forest or near Flagstaff, AZ. We knew the general direction of this location but had no idea how to get there. We spent an afternoon exploring the area and eventually stumbled upon it. It is such a breathtaking view that we have returned countless times since. The rooms were not as clean. To be exact, one of their staff members was not friendly at all. I asked her for a simple question and her response was to Google it. I thought maybe I was the problem for asking many questions but then I noticed she was like that with absolutely every other person. I was waiting to get an issue resolved and noticed her interaction with others. I dislike the fact you have to call them for all kitchen hardware. There is absolutely nothing inside the hotel, except for cups. The mini fridge did not work. I do have to say, outside the Vedara, it is beautiful. Everything is near by but the hotel itself, was not very pleasant.

I complained with the manager of the hotel and housekeeping for the poor management of my request to clean my room after the toilet got clogged. 9 am I requested to have the room clean (while we are out of the hotel) but returned to the hotel at around 2PM and the room was not cleaned yet. I called like 4 times and everytime I called, I was told that the cleaner is on its way (1st call was told it will only take 15-20 minutes) and took about an hour until after I complained that the cleaner arrived. When I spoke with another housekeeper on line and the manager I was told that all my earlier calls were not recorded (which explained why the room was not cleaned and the follow up cleaner never arrived). Its very frustrating.
