We've made this farmhouse-inspired cottage in the Cottage Hill historic district a quiet retreat with a private entrance and a full kitchen. It's 4 minutes from Maxwell AFB and 5 from the Alabama State Capitol. 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sleeps up to 4 with the sofa bed.

Nestled in the oldest surviving residential area of Montgomery, The Cottage Hill historic district traces its origins back to the pre-Civil War era of the 1830's. This neighborhood encompasses 42 acres of mature trees, sidewalks, and Queen Anne homes. The Hill overlooks not only the Alabama River but also the downtown area of Montgomery. It's within walking distance of several restaurants and nightlife for the city, but placed in a quaint setting with charming and unique architecture.

You will be provided with a unique code that you can use to access the property via the electronic deadbolt.

We recently restored this cottage, so you'll find fresh paint, durable hard-surface flooring and clean, modern touches throughout. Everything is on a single level, so there are no stairs to manage with your luggage. You come and go through your own private entrance, and there is free parking on the premises. Air conditioning and heating keep you comfortable in any season. Because the cottage is only minutes from downtown, Riverwalk Stadium and Maxwell AFB, you can spend your day out and come back to a calm, comfortable place.

Living area & work
When you want to unwind, two TCL Roku UHD Smart TVs are ready for your favorite shows and movies. Wi-Fi keeps you connected. There is also a dedicated workspace if you need to get a little done between meetings or family visits.

Kitchen & dining
You can cook a real meal here. The kitchen has shaker cabinets, stainless steel appliances and white speckled granite countertops. You'll find a refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven and microwave. We provide cooking basics, dishes and silverware, and wine glasses. We also leave coffee and a coffee maker for your first morning. Sit down together at the dining table, or take a plate out to the patio.

Laundry
The in-unit washer and dryer make longer stays easy. You can pack light and refresh your clothes whenever you need to.

Outdoors
Step out to your patio or balcony. The outdoor furniture gives you a spot for morning coffee or a quiet evening after a day out.

A few things to know before you book:

PRIMARY GUEST
The guest who books must be at least 21 years old and must stay at the apartment for the entire reservation. The primary guest is responsible for everyone in their group and any visitors.

RENTAL AGREEMENT
Every guest is required to sign a short rental agreement after booking. This is not optional: our property insurance requires a signed agreement for each stay, and our attorneys have advised the same. It covers house rules, check-in and check-out procedures, occupancy limits, and responsibility for damage. It takes about two minutes, and there is no app to download and no account or password to create. We send it after booking along with a brief check-in form, and your access details follow once both are complete.

THE APARTMENT
This apartment is one of the units in The Cottages, a small community at the corner of Herron Street and Whitman Street. Other guests may be staying in the neighboring units, but your apartment is private. 147 Whitman faces Herron Street. It is the far right unit at the end of the complex on Herron Street.

HOUSE RULES
• Maximum 4 overnight guests
• Quiet hours 9 pm to 8 am
• No parties or events
• No smoking or vaping
• Pets welcome: up to 2 (dogs 60 lb or under; some breeds are restricted for insurance). $50 pet fee per stay covers all pets. Please add pets to your reservation.
• No commercial photography or filming without our written approval (see below)
• Please lock the apartment door each time you leave. It does not lock automatically

DURING YOUR STAY
Our cleaning, maintenance, and guest-support team works hard to make your stay great. Airbnb expects guests to be considerate and respectful of hosts and everyone they meet during a stay, and we ask the same toward our team, vendors, and neighbors. Concerns are always welcome. Verbal abuse, threats, or harassment of anyone on our team will be reported to Airbnb.

Please tell us about any damage as soon as it happens so we can sort it out fairly. Please keep total people in the apartment, including daytime visitors, within the guest limit. Please leave the exterior cameras and the indoor noise monitor connected and uncovered.

Commercial photography or filming is only allowed with our written approval before your stay. Approval requires a commercial general liability policy of at least $1,000,000 naming Dreamline Suites as an additional insured. All house rules, guest limits, and parking rules still apply.

PARKING
Park in the gravel lot at the rear of the property, reachable from either Whitman Street or Herron Street.

PETS
Up to 2 pets (dogs 60 lb or under; no restricted breeds). The $50 pet fee per stay covers all pets, and pets must be added to your reservation. Please crate pets when they're left alone, keep them off beds and furniture, clean up after them, and keep them leashed outdoors. Service animals are always welcome, no fee.

GOOD TO KNOW
There is an in-unit washer and dryer.

TRASH
The green bins are kept out by the road on Whitman Street. Just drop your bags in; nothing needs to be brought back.

EARLY CHECK-IN & LATE CHECKOUT
Available on request when the cleaning schedule allows. $20 per hour, one-hour minimum. Message us and we'll check with our cleaning team.

BEFORE CHECKOUT
Before you head out, please leave used dishes in the kitchen sink or dishwasher, gather used towels in the tub, put trash in the kitchen bin, take your food and belongings, and turn off the lights and A/C. Our cleaning team handles the rest.

LOCAL RULES
City of Montgomery Ordinance 29-2026 (short-term rentals):
• Maximum occupancy is 2 per bedroom plus 2 (4 at this apartment)
• Park only in designated spaces. No buses, RVs, or commercial vehicles
• Amplified music is allowed indoors only
• No weddings, receptions, parties, or events
• Trash bins must be kept out of public view except on collection day
The city fines the operator $250 for a first violation and $500 for each one after. If a guest's violation results in a city fine, we will request reimbursement through Airbnb's Resolution Center with the citation attached.

SECURITY & MONITORING
For the safety and security of our guests and the property, motion-activated cameras are installed on the exterior only. They record audio and video and monitor entrances and outdoor areas. No cameras monitor any indoor area. An indoor noise-monitoring device measures noise levels only. It does not record audio or video.
