Lovely Home Near Downtown

Golf trip

The house was perfect! It had everything as advertised. It was a pleasant surprise. More room than we thought it would have from the outside. All of the device charging cords were great. Kitchen was well stocked. We will try to stay here again if we’re on the area.

Charming, Whimsical and Extremely Accommodating

I lived in Old Cloverdale for many years, so I already knew that this house was in the most beautiful neighborhood in Montgomery and within easy walking distance to fun restaurants, shops and grocers. The pictures in the VRBO listing looked sweet to me, and I was planning to see a play at The Cloverdale Playhouse next door, anyway, so I booked it! So the photos were accurate, but what they didn't reflect was how whimsically and playfully the home was decorated -- fascinating little one-of-a-kind knick-knacks, paintings & pictures on the wall that were a joy to look at (there was zero vibe that this house was decorated via the clearance table at Kirkland's) -- OR how perfectly accommodating this host made the house -- multi-charging cables everywhere a guest would need them, small labels on all the cabinets and drawers stating what was inside, even a tv tray (haven't seen one in years!) for my supper-for-one while I watched a movie. This home was clean and charming in that special Deep South way but not pretentious in the least. I also enjoyed going for walks in the neighborhood without having to walk along Fairview to get there -- just went through the back yard and I was on a little shady side street. Scott always responded almost immediately any time I contacted him, and I truly felt that all he wanted was for me to enjoy my stay. Best short-term rental experience ever.

Nice historical home,( as described, accurate pictures) nice bedding, plenty of towels. The home was convenient walking distance to a few restaurants. Several step up and step downs through the kitchen and dining area. Well appointed/supplied kitchen. Two tables, one in the dining room ( seats 6) and one smaller one ( round seats 4) more open to the kitchen. The backyard fence needs some repair. ( I did not bring my small dog however, I would not have considered the backyard fence secure for small dogs because of some damage)

What a unique and inviting home! We enjoyed our stay immensely and found the home to be inviting, relaxing and perfect for our family's needs! Each room had a theme and the artwork was something everyone appreciated! The bookshelf contained an amazing collection of items and books that were intriguing for all ages. The floor plan was delightful and accommodated our large family easily. The beds slept comfortably and we enjoyed cooking together in the kitchen. The neighborhood is in a great area, both for historical architecture and fun restaurants and shops. We loved walking in the neighborhood! Scott was very responsive and extremely helpful. Such a memorable stay! Sincerely wish there were more homes (and hosts) like this on VRBO!

There are PROS to this rental: it is convenient to all of Montgomery, the price is reasonable, the host is very communicative, the A/C works great and it is well stocked for towels/linens/papertowels.There are CONS to this rental: it is quite old and in need of renovation, especially the bathrooms. There is a musty smell throughout the house which improves with running the A/C but is always there.
