Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Monteros?
The best area to stay in Monteros is generally within the city centre, particularly around the main square, Plaza Bernabé Aráoz.

This central area is the heart of Monteros, offering easy access to local shops, eateries, and key services. The streets surrounding Plaza Bernabé Aráoz are well-maintained and provide a pleasant environment for walking. You'll find the main church, the Municipal Palace, and various businesses concentrated here.

For couples looking for convenience and a pleasant base for exploring, staying near Plaza Bernabé Aráoz is ideal. It allows for relaxed strolls to local cafes and restaurants in the evenings, and it's a good starting point for day trips to nearby natural attractions like the Calchaquí Valleys.

Families will also find the city centre a practical option. The proximity to local amenities means everything you might need is within easy reach, and the central square often offers a nice space for children to enjoy.
When is the best time to go to Monteros?
The best time to visit Monteros is during the dry season, which runs from May to October, with June to August being particularly pleasant.

During these months, you'll experience cooler temperatures and significantly less rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the region's natural beauty and outdoor activities. The average daytime temperatures in winter (June-August) range from 10°C to 25°C, offering comfortable conditions for hiking or visiting the nearby sugar cane plantations and citrus groves.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will appreciate the mild weather for leisurely strolls through the town's plazas or enjoying a coffee at a pavement café without the humidity of the summer months. It's also a good time for wine tasting in the nearby Calchaquí Valleys, as the travel conditions are more favourable.

For those interested in local culture, the dry season often coincides with various regional festivals and traditions, providing a genuine taste of Tucumán life.
