Luxury Villa with private pool in Montejaque, Ronda, Andalucia, Spain

If you opt for peace, beauty, many activities and friendly people make you feel instantly at home in this very authentic white town. Also stay in a beautiful Andalusian villa recently built. The five vaulted arches guarantee you a magnificent view over the mountain ranges in the middle of the Natural Graz Elema and of course your own private pool. The villa is very tastefully decorated (by an interior designer) and can accommodate 8 people. There are four beautiful bedrooms and four bathrooms, the spacious kitchen is fully equipped (oven, induction hotplates, dishwasher, washing machine etc). The village is situated among many other white villages. Cities like Seville, Malaga, Jerez, Raychem and Arcos de la Frontera are all less than one and half hours to drive. Granada and Cordoba are a little bit more but are well on one day up and down berijzen. Ronda is the nearest large city where delicious tapas restaurants to Michelin star down.

More details: Fresh bread, meat, fish and other foods are widely available in the shops of Montejaque. There are terminals, two banks and a pharmacy. Restaurants serving local dishes and tapas are served are located around the village square with terraces and elsewhere in the village. Ronda has many good stores like a number of large supermarkets. Also in the meadow surrounding the beautiful communal pool available (Benjoan

Great opportunity to stay in one of the Pueblos Blancos
We stayed here with our two little kids (2 and 4yo) and immediately felt at home when we entered the house. The high ceiling and overall nice decor gives a great atmosphere. The rooms are clean and each room has an ensuite (showers have great power!). You cannot access the property with your own car as the streets are to narrow but Isabel will help with the luggage and anything else you need help with (we had A LOT of luggage and it wasn’t an issue at all). It’s a true experience to stay in one of these little towns. We had the best time at the local fair, enjoyed running/walking through the mountains, trips to Ronda (great lunch near the bullfighting arena) and Seville and some relaxing days around the town. The supermarkets are very basic so we did groceries at the larger supermarket in Ronda. There are also several restaurants and a bakery with decent (Spanish) bread. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Our family enjoyed staying in this spacious villa with terrific views of the hills. The pool was always refreshing -- much appreciated in the heat of August! Isabel was incredibly helpful.

Superb location if you are fit
If you are looking for a friendly quiet location this is ideal. The village square has a handful of bars serving tapas and there are also excellent restaurants nearby for such a small place. The thing to be aware of is a VERY steep descent to the villa which makes access for anybody with limited mobility an issue. The compensation is the view of the mountains, particularly at sunrise and sunset. The villa is a good size but is a little dated in places. We were given all the help and advice we needed by Isabel. There are local shops that sell most things but Ronda is just over 10 miles away and has bigger supermarkets. Ronda is well worth a visit as you will see on any internet search. If you do have a car you will need to leave it 200 or 300 yards away from the villa as the road to the villa is perilously narrow. If you are happy with all this I would thoroughly recommend this villa.

A quiet piece of paradise!
What a wonderful week. We loved the house, the pool, the views. This was the perfect rental. Any cricticism that has come before means that a few of its visitors have had unrealistic expectations of living in rural Spain. Yes, there were a few ants (don't leave food out!) , in our case there was even some unexpected roadworks outside our door for most of the week and no water one day, but you take it in stride. Our hosts were very caring of our comfort and even went as far to treat us to a lovely meal at The Casita restaurant to compensate for the roadworks. All in all, a perfect place to relax for a week. Thank you to a very generous owner for sharing your beautiful home with strangers, and a big thank you to Carolyn for giving us great ideas for day trips. It was great to meet you and yes, it is indeed a small world!

Great villa.
Family group of seven. Villa spacious light and airy. Loved the pool being same depth throughout. Any issues we had were quickly resolved. Beautiful village. Climb to the top of the hill through winding lanes behind the Main Square to get an amazing view of the area. Had great Tapas in the bars in the Main Square. Friendliest village I've ever been to. Shops in the village are a bit limited but good enough for topping up supplies. Good meal to be had at the Italian restaurant near to the Villa. Excellent pizzas. Highly recommend the hotel Molino del santo in the next village for a special treat. A little expensive but well worth it. Carolyn and Kevin in the house across the road are very helpful. Only a few minor points. No storage in the upstairs bedrooms and very little in the kitchen area. OccUpants should probably be made aware of the steep Hill to and from the villa. Could be problematic for elderly or less able. Overall an excellent holiday venue.

Spacious house in a sleepy little village
We are a group of 8 people (family and friends), who just stayed a week in Los Arcos. We chose the place because of the many positive reviews, but kind of agreed that calling it a luxury house is a bit exaggerated. When we arrived the house smelled a little moldy, and there were dust lying in the corners and cobwebs under the bed (and a spider IN the bed :-)) The smell disappeared after a day, so no big deal. Still not something you expect from a luxury house. The dishwasher didn't work properly, so you had to wash the plates and glasses by hand afterwards. Also, the internet is really slow. Some of us had to do some work while we were there, which was almost impossible, at least if more than one person was online at the same time. Another thing that was a bit inconvenient are the toilets in the rooms. They have no doors. Only a little curtain. Using the toilet by night when your friend is lying just beside felt weird and we usually waited till the next morning. Doors would be nice :-) Also, the kitchen was filled with ants and even though we put our bread in plastic bags the ants usually found a way in. All of us also agreed that the fountain in the pool was annoying. It's very zen and cosy the first five minutes when you arrive, but after a while when you sit by the pool and almost can't hear what each other are saying, it gets really irritating. We asked if they could turn it off, but that wasn't possible. It turns on and off at different times of the day. We made our own homemade solution with some plastic underneath etc in the pool to quiet it a bit. That helped. It may sound like we're nitpicking, but from all the positive reviews we had expected a different standard. Also, many of the things could be easily improved. And now to the good stuff :-) The house is quite big, the rooms are okay and the showers are great. The village is a cosy, little and charming village even though not much is happening. It's a great place if you want to hike in the mountains or visit the caves nearby which several of us loved. If you want to have a really nice dinner, head for Molino del Santo in the next village. The food and the service there is great! Also, the communication with the agent before and after arriving was fine. And when the fountain was off, we very much enjoyed the outdoor area and the pool and had a couple of cosy nights barbecuing.

Perfect holiday house!
Having seen the photos of this property, our expectations were quite high, but the reality is even than the photos! Los Arcos is a fabulous house - beautifully designed, well-equipped and a pool with the most gorgeous view of the mountains behind. We spent 10 glorious days in Montejaque - a wonderful little village which certainly comes to life during the August Feira - there always seemed to be something going on in the square whenever we walked up the hill! We couldn't have asked more of our holiday - the village is perfectly situated in order to visit Ronda and many of the stunning surrounding Pueblas Blancas. Normally, even though we love a place, we wouldn't necessarily return as there are so many other places in the world to visit, but in Montejaque, and Los Arcos we really found a place that will stay in our hearts forever, and we can't wait to go back. Thank you to Carolyn and Kevin across the road for making us feel so welcome and answering any queries! We will enjoy cooking dishes from your cooking book!
