One of the Most Extraordinary Hotels We Have Experienced Anywhere in the World We are world travelers and have been fortunate enough to stay at many beautiful luxury properties around the world, but Gran Meliá Iguazú truly stands apart. This was easily one of the most beautiful properties we have ever experienced and represents the absolute upper echelon of luxury hospitality. The interior and exterior design is stunning and incredibly well curated. Every space feels intentional, sophisticated, and beautifully integrated with the surrounding natural environment. Of course, nothing compares to the breathtaking views of Iguazú Falls directly from the property. It is truly surreal to wake up, have a cocktail, enjoy a meal, or simply relax while looking out at one of the most spectacular natural wonders in the world. The location within Iguazú National Park is also unbeatable. Having such convenient access to the park and its trails made exploring the falls incredibly easy and allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the experience. Service throughout our stay was above and beyond. A very special thank you to **Agostina, our concierge**, who took wonderful care of us and made sure every detail was handled, and **Estaban, our Butler in the Red Lounge**, whose attentive and personalized service made our experience even more special. They are both exceptional representatives of the level of hospitality Gran Meliá provides. The entire property was immaculate!

Great stay! Food was good …. We’re not as helpful and friendly….

I don’t think this should be a five star resort I enjoyed my visit to Puerto Iguazú but I didn’t love my stay at Loi. I found as a whole the staff were very inattentive particularly in the restaurants and bars. There was no one greeting or taking room numbers at breakfast, and the dinner service wasn’t great. The food I had at dinner was nice, I can’t fault the quality or price. I think the breakfast was very low quality offering however, given the price of this hotel I would have expected a wider offering, cooked-to-order omelettes etc. The hotel will organise you taxis but beware they are more expensive than Ubers which sometimes operate. As an example, Uber is about 10,000ARS each way to go into town, with the hotel it’s 30,000ARS return (plus surcharge so 36,000 if paying by card). I stayed in a Junior Studio and the room felt tired, especially the cupboards which are looking worn and need to be replaced. It was nice to have the glass door open and hear the jungle. I had a 4pm flight so requested a later check out. Usually hotels are happy to offer an hour or two extra if they aren’t full occupancy. I was told they charge 25 USD per extra hour. Given the place was far from full, it wouldn’t have hurt them to upgrade me to a nicer room, but that’s life! In early September it’s still too cool for using the pools, even the heated pools weren’t “warm” enough to enjoy. This isn’t a big deal but just something to be aware of.
