It was OK as a home base for visiting waterfalls and Tracy City Antiques, but not somewhere to spend much time. The high window skylights made TV watching (early morning and evenings) worthless with a large glare on the TV.
This cottage was in an ideal location. Very central to Monteagle but still off the main road for a quiet peaceful setting. We loved seeing the herd of deer grazing in the yard every day. It was a little outdated but clean. It could use some small repairs such as the toilet paper holder in the main hallway was broken and the light in the ensuite over the shower did not work making it dark. The beds and bedding were extremely comfortable and spacious. It was great to have two bathrooms and the den though small, was cozy. We were disappointed that the fireplace wasn't working which I only found out by calling in to ask how to work it. (Some instruction on how to use the gas fireplace may be helpful) On our 3rd and final evening the heat went out with about 20 degree temps. The office team were very responsive and we ended up moving to another cabin not too far away when a showed concern of using space heaters overnight. There is nothing fancy about this cottage and if you're looking for a good central location in Monteagle this is your place.
