The property is nice and the staff is nice as well. The hotel is directly across from a beautiful park and walkable to an unlimited number of restaurants in bistros and bars. The metro is 100 m away. Unfortunately, the air conditioning wasn’t working and we could not open our windows at night because a bistro directly below us left cigarette smoke billowing into our bedroom. They were kind enough to move us to another room.

Enjoyed our stay at Grand Hotel. Our room was amazing; nice, clean and big with a large bathroom. The A/C did not seem to cool down our room much - luckily it was a little rainy while we were there and opening the windows helped. Elevator is small and we had to carry our large suitcases up a small staircase to get to the room once on our floor. But nothing substantial that would deter me from staying here again. Great location - quick walk to Vieux Lyon and rue Merciere where there are a TON of restaurants (we recommend the pizza at Figlio).

A very convenient location. Unfortunately the cafe next door has closed and there’s rubbish been left. The service was excellent - a small issue with the room was fixed without delay and we received a food gift due to any convenience we may have had. Very friendly and helpful staff.

My sons and I stayed for one night at the hotel Charlemagne so we could experience the city and the food culture it provided. We enjoyed the air conditioning the hotel had to offer in the rooms AAA we happened to hit a warm spell at the time of our visit. The lobby is fine, the elevators smaller than one might expect at a 4 star hotel, but all in all the photos of the facility are fairly accurate. It is a nice place to stay for the money you pay.
