"The breakfast was outstanding, right down to the cloth napkins. Great choice of breads, cheeses, and more conventional breakfast items. There were smoked salmon and specialty meats. There were machines for expressos, and custom prepared coffees. I just wish I had a bigger appetite in the morning! The bed was fantastic: firm but with a soft padding. The staff was professional and took an interest in the customer experience. Nicolas helped me when I checked in. I had a problem with my room. I went back downstairs. And told Nicolas; he immediately offered to switch my room to an identical one above the current one. I was pleasantly surprised to realize that his concern was with my comfort and satisfaction. Also the hostess in the breakfast room was great. She listened to me and made the exact coffee I wanted. And she remembered the next two days without being reminded. Unfortunately I didn’t get her name."

The only let-down was that whilst we were aware check-in was 16.30, we didn’t expect the gates to be locked when we arrived at 16.00. Quite why we couldn’t park in the car park and wait outside is beyond me. Instead we were expected to sit in the street outside. Once we were let in, our room wasn’t ready until 16.50. Otherwise, lovely and slept really well."
