Apartments in Montagu

"We had a large apartment, double bed and single bed, that looks ADA equipped. It was just the two of us but that was the only room available. The hotel is essentially in the middle of a small town with a bunch of local stores (including KFC) up and down the street. It seems safe enough to walk around but not much to see. The bird hide was disappointing. Bed was comfortable. Lighting was so-so, not so good mirror for makeup. Shower was good but not enclosed. Didn’t sample the unheated pool but heard kids in there. We decided to eat outside the hotel and had dinner at the Purple Pickle next door and it was good and cheap. Had breakfast at Barn at 62 and that was great! Best avo toast I’ve had. "

"Our room was lovely and clean. The staff was fabulous. Note dear traveler:the Airlies Lodge was not open when we arrived and we banged on the door to no avail. A passerby pointed out that the Monta Villa had taken the property over and was accessible around the corner. Wish Airlies had a sign to that effect. So once we figured it all out, it went well."

The property and my room were beautiful and the breakfast was a good as any I’ve had at at B&B (made even more enjoyable by the view over the garden and olive grove). Best yet was the personal care provided the owners Pam and “Ant” who are very hands on. I highly recommended Montagu Vines."

The individual lodges are fabulous, with large comfortable rooms. Our guide was brilliant, getting us as close as possible to the animals and explaining everything with great humour. All the meals were included in the price and the food was excellent."
