KETTLE COTTAGE - Pet friendly, cosy Hebridean Cottage on North Uist
10/10 Excellent
"A lovely small house in a remote, but wonderful location. The house was well equipped, and comfortable. It was spotlessly clean and warm when we arrived, the welcome basket of treats was a lovely touch. The immediate area had a lot to see and do, with great walking all around. The RSPB reserve at Balranald was great, with loads of birds, and really interesting flora easy to spot. There was plenty of great food in the locality, most notably at the Dunes Larder (a self-service shop with local cakes, biscuits, meat, dairy and more), the Dunes Cabin which served great filled rolls, and seafood. The Westford Inn was also great with good food and a decent pint! Finally I should mention that Anne, the host was great, responding rapidly to our occasional requests."
"Incredibly beautiful location, and a good place to explore Eriskay a s South Uist from.
Amazing sunset view from outside seating. A great place for a drink after a day of exploring. And an indoor bar with a view if the weather isn't cooperating.
Room was fine, clean and comfortable.
Food was okay.
Most staff were very friendly.
Would stay again."

"Just spent a wonderful 12 days at Airidh an Dobhrain. The accommodation is perfect small and quaint from the outside but extremely well equipped inside..full kitchen with everything you could need..comfy lounge with real fire and TV (if u should need it) comfy bedroom and modern bathroom with amazing shower. The real star of the show is outside isolated but not too remote..theres a co op and garage 2 miles away. Situated on small loch gives amazing views and plenty of wildlife, we had Eagles, hen harriers ,sparrow hawk, divers and deer amongst many others.Benbecula is an ideal base to explore the islands being pretty central. Hope to return 1 day"

The cottage is so attractive with its traditional thatch and whitewashed walls.

"Lovely cottage - warm , cosy , well equipped and very clean Owner friendly and helpful as was cleaner who also popped round to check all was well with the cottage North Uist has few amenities and everything is a long drive away on narrow roads - hence average score for location and local amenities"
"A wonderful pause for us during our 5 week adventures.
Dorothy and Iain were available and really helpful to insure our stay was everything we wanted. We loved the peace and tranquility.
Thank you so much"
