What a special and relaxing place. Amazing views, right on the beach, beautiful area to walk around and nice food options nearby. Also close drive to lots of beautiful nature. The onsen is spacious and wonderful, includes a sauna and cold tub. Lots of surfing right in front of the hotel also.

Overall I was impressed. A nice hotel overlooking the beach and ocean. The room was nice, although a little dated. It looked like a really nice hotel from the ‘80s, which in a way gave it some charm. My only complaint was the baggage handler who was there to great is outside. He didn’t listen to us when we told him not to take our bags. My wife had to tell him several times to leave them, but he wouldn’t listen. I understand why this service is needed, however, some people (like us) would rather deal with our stuff ourselves. This part of the experience wasn’t enjoyable to and an overall pleasant stay.

Okay we have rated the overall stay as good. The property and rooms were good and comfortable. The staff excellent. BUT the breakfast left sooo much to be desired, not the least of which was what should have been hot food actually being hot, even just warm, but every morning what should have been hot food was stone cold. Memo to restaurant manager- invest in some heat lamps to keep bacon, eggs, sausages pancakes, fish etc at least warm. It was such a let down. Without doubt the coldest hot food buffet we have experienced in our travels.

We stayed for a week in May 2025. This place looks like it was a grand resort, but has aged a little. Located on the beach (great views). Shop and sports shop in the building. The building maintenance was a bit in need.. The room air conditioner was hopeless. (Room 7016) Wifi was unsecured and very hit and miss. 20km drive to Miyazaki city. Restaurants 15 min walk to Aoshima. Free parking onsite. All considered was reasonable value for moneybecause it was inexpensive.

Considering it's a Holiday Inn hotel, none of the staff could speak English on a basic level. Most of them needed Google Translate to converse for basic directions. We had a great beach view. Room was spacious and amenities are always well-stocked each day. Location was a bit far from most attractions.
