We had a lovely stay. The staff is over the top. Our room was impeccable after cleaning service. So convenient to everything. Grocery store was conveniently across the street. Pool was wonderful. Sauna area could be a little cleaner but wonderful and relaxing just the same.

In the booking it was stated that the room of type Economy include - Double Room, 1 Queen Bed, Balcony In practice, the hotel claimed that an Economy type reservation does not include a balcony and I did not receive a room with a balcony. It's a shame because it spoiled the experience of staying at the place.

10++/A+++ = The check in guy was GREAT, wonderful and helpful. Parking directly out back. Could use an elevator , room was a distance from the parking. Enough electrical outlets. Great WiFi. Very good hot water. Nice quiet setting but close to walking to old town, WONDERFUL, wonderful breakfast. Great check-in and Check-out young man (same person). 10 ++ stay, I will return, Dan

Great hotel but not if you need internet
This is an excellent hotel, comfortable room very well priced. The breakfast is splendid. There is limited free parking, a pool and sauna. It is at the end of the main pedestrian area with a large public car park opposite and a good supermarket across the road. It looks towards the Alps which loom over Mittenwald. However, what spoils what would otherwise be excellent is the woefully internet speed. From room 206 I could not connect on tablet or phone and had to go to the lounge to get even a weak signal. That's a big deal in 2022 and needs fixing.

Worth the money?
I think the price was high because it's the year end and the location of the hotel was very near to the city centre. The view in front of the hotel was also amazing, but it's just that. Though it said with balcony, there's no balcony at all in the economy room. The bed was old, the bathroom was unnecessarily big, the wi-fi was cut off before checking-out and the breakfast hot meals like sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs were placed in the other dining area without informing the guests.

Hiking holiday in Mittenwald
Hotel is at reasonable distance from train station. Very close to town centre, where you can easily find a few good restaurants for dining. Staffs are helpful, and able to provide valuable information on attractions nearby.

Short notice booking as we were snowed in and roads impassable. Room made available by midday. Very clean smart rooms with sofa and chair and large balcony. Swimming pool (indoor) and sauna, with buffet breakfast. Close to centre of Mittenwald

Charming and Convenient
We stayed 2 nights at Alpenhotel Rieger mid July 2018. It was a charming older hotel/resort in a great location. The hotel has all the facilities we look for including central location, Wi Fi, safe (a bit old fashioned but worked) and car parking. Our room had lovely views of the surrounding mountains. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was included. We didn't have time to use the indoor pool

Lovely hotel next to old town
Lovely hotel next to the old town. Rooms at the front have some traffic noise and only top grade rooms have air con. Fabulous view from front of hotel (and our room), good swimming pool. Excellent buffet breakfast and the weekly Italian Buffet supper was really good value.

Charming hotel in Bavaria.
This was part of a tour through Germany and Austria. Mittenwald is a bit off the beaten path and very charming. The staff is very attentive and friendly. This is not a five star hotel but I still very comfortable and in a great location.

Great stay in a charming town!
We had a wonderful stay at Alpenhotel Rieger. The service and food were excellent. We would definitely recommend getting half board (dinner and breakfast). They accommodated our limited German and vegetarian preferences and were helpful with everything. The hotel was classic and comfortable, and we enjoyed the beautiful views from the balcony and the charming town. The only update we would recommend is bigger TVs. This is probably not important to everyone, but the TV was about 14 inches and was on the wall in a very odd location, making it impossible to watch from the bed. Otherwise, great hotel!

Very nice hotel. Excellent breakfast :) it is located in the heart of town of Mittenwald , which is very picturesque. Great view of the mountains surrounded the area. very pretty and comfortable.

I chose this hotel as I needed to be able to check in after midnight after a dash from airport but it turned out to be excellent in all respects being good quality accommodation, friendly family-run feel to it and great location

Good location
The half-half board stay included both dinner and breakfast, and was a great deal which both helped save money and time, so that we didn't have to go out at night for dinner. It was a 3 course meal which was really worth it. Breakfast was also good and comprehensive, just to note that the hot/cooked food is in a separate room on a counter, so I didn't notice it until after eating.
