Such a great stay. We stayed here while attending a family reunion and it was such a nice landing pad for us and the kids. So many cute touches and fun house overall.
The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors were friendly. The property is a snapshot into history and was very well maintained. It is close to so many Southeast MN attractions like hiking, bike riding, and walking around the lakes. If you are in the area, it should be on your list of places to experience.
1950's Lustron ranxh house in a beautiful quiet setting
What an amazing Lustron house! This 50's gem is 5 miles from Winona in little, quiet Minnesota City. We enjoyed the comfy beds, cute 50's style steel ranch house and totally peaceful surroundings. Clean and really comfy.
This was a very cool house, as stated. Very clean and comfortable. Check-in and communication was excellent! We visited with our daughter that is in college in Winona and this property was very close for that occasion.
This was our second stay with Wendy. We just love this unique, vintage home! It is adorable, clean and nicely stocked. The fire pit outside in this quiet neighborhood was the "cherry on top". We will definitely be back!
We had a comfortable overnight here while visiting family in Winona. The pictures don’t exactly show what a unique place it is. Post-war prefab housing, lovingly preserved like a time-capsule. We had a great time.
Bring your own coffee.
This was our first stay in a VRBO. And we hit the jackpot! Comfortable, tasteful mid-century and eclectic furnishings in a piece of post-war housing history. If you don’t know about Lustron houses, read about them on the web. I’m so glad this Lustron house is available for vacation rentals! The owner was very easy to deal with and has packed the house with so many nice, hospitable touches. There is so much to do in the area, and after doing all the activities it’s so nice to come back to this house and relax. We’ll be back!
Booked this on a last minute trip to visit our granddaughter in Winona, and what a pleasant surprise once we got in. It was like a step back in time with this Lustron home. We knew nothing about the history of them so the book in the kitchen was a perfect added touch. The retro dining area was perfect, comfortable and enjoyable to have a family dinner. There is plenty of comfortable seating in the living room for the whole family. The carpet is new and very clean so I had no worries about my granddaughter crawling around. Beds were comfortable and bedrooms spacious too. There were plenty of towels, dishes, soaps and the added extras were much appreciated. Coffee bar fully stocked, water bottles in the refrigerator, ice made in freezer, and a bowl of chocolates for that late night snack. We definitely had a great stay here! The floor does get a bit chilly, but it is the middle of December so just remember your slippers. They did have some to borrow in case you forget. ;) They have definitely thought of all the little touches to make it feel like a home not just a rental.
We were thrilled with the Vintage Lustron Home. Every detail was impressive and we felt privileged to have a chance to experience history in this way. The home was very clean, neighborhood was tranquil, and overall experience is unforgettable.
We are visiting friends in Winona, and needed a place for our family of 4 to stay. I looked on Vrbo, and found this perfect little house! It is so neat and clean! It was like stepping in to history! My husband loves the architecture and I love the history on how these houses were built! I will definitely recommend this place to anyone!
My grandparents owned a Lustron home, so staying here was like revisiting fond childhood memories. Back then, the home didn't seem so unusual; now it's definitely a post-war time capsule. The original features are in very good condition and the home is spotlessly clean. Everything was as described, very comfortable and in good working order. Appreciated the snacks in the kitchen.
It was a great stay in a clean home with a quiet neighborhood. There is nice attention to details that made our stay comfortable such as coffee, tea, cocoa and basic spices for cooking. There is a washer and dryer but we did not need it. The host was responsive to communications. There is a pullout bed in the living room. There are 3 parking spots and is only 10 minutes to Winona. Highly recommended.
Very unique and more than adequate for our group of 6 adults. Host was available for any quirks with entry. Well furnished and a great jumping off point.
Didn't plan on cooking, but you surely could everything and I mean everything was furnished including cream, butter, condiments, napkins, candy, oatmeal, granola bars and on and on. Everything labeled and easy to find.
We stayed for a 3 day race for my son’s 12th Birthday. The house has so much character and charm. It was very neat to see a home like this one, we never have before. It is so much better than a hotel, I highly recommend this little hide away.
