The Lone Star Lodge was a very relaxing stay with everything you need for a wonderful 4th of July weekend with the family!
Place was exactly what you need to just put down your phones and reconnect with family. Atmosphere was amazing and the place was fully furnished and had everything you needed to just concentrate on fun and quality time. Would definitely book again
We totally enjoyed our stay it was so nice just to unwind. Would like to have had better internet connection or cell service. I have an elderly mother who I would like to have kept in contact with more, and maybe one TV in one of the rooms. Other than that we loved it. Everything we needed was provided and it was extremely clean and organized. Thanks again for having us
Daughter #5 married at Mt. Pisgah Altar/reception at T&D Cats of the World--centrally located to both--family flew in from CO--great meeting place to prepare, catch-up, etc. Nice open floor plan with big table for all to fit comfortably. Nice bathrooms, bedrooms, furnishings... Private. Very peaceful and beautiful. Had everything that we needed. I wouldn't hesitate to reserve again!
Second year at same location. Great place to have family getaway.

Awesome property!
This is a lovely cabin in the woods. Had everything we needed and more! Well stocked kitchen and baths. Clean, comfortable. Has wifi but no cell service. (It is remote!) My car's GPS couldn't find the address but Google maps does. Has gas grill, charcoal grill, fire pit. Was exactly as pictured. Highly recommend!
Great property in the woods with easy access to Bald Eagle State Forest lands. Well-equipped house made for a very enjoyable stay. Kitchen and bathrooms were especially appreciated for their nicely appointed fixtures and appliances.
We had an amazing time. This cabin is like a home away from home with all the amenities, yet with the cabin feel. The house was clean, user friendly and the beds were comfortable! We were happy to bring the dog, who loved it as well! We would recommend this place to anyone! Looking forward to another stay! Thanks again!

Okay stay
Very remote location, first time in 6 years that my car's GPS said that the address was "in a location that route guidance is not provided". Defective smoke alarm in crawlspace beeped every 8 minutes all night of the first night of the stay. Finally found the problem the next morning. Place was reasonably clean and well stocked. Small ants on the kitchen counter were a minor nuisance. Manager was responsive and helpful.
We were a mixed group of couples and kids and everyone had a great time. We loved how quiet and wooded the area was. We had plenty of space and everyone was comfortable.
Everything you need for a quite retreat to nature to connect with family. Everything you will need is provided without the distractions of TV or cell service. The WIFI was available but mostly used to stream bedtime music for the baby. We passed idyllic rural landscapes and pass Amish farms on the way to quick day trips to State College and Hershey
This was the perfect place for our family to get away and spend time together. Loved the outdoors and the close proximity to the state parks, which we visited every day while there. Firepit and picnic table also great. The house was arranged to appropriately meet the needs of our family and grandchildren. Would definitely consider staying here again!!!
We had an excellent weekend at this cabin. It was perfectly comfortable for 2 families and 2 dogs. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The grounds were spacious and we loved the fire pit. We will be back.
Owner/manager provided plates, towels, sheets, paper towels etc which was a good touch especially because some VRBO and Airbnb owners do not. The cabin is a nice layout with large kitchen area and a wood burning fire that heats the whole house quickly.
If you are looking to unplug and get back to nature, this is the perfect place! My two boys were able to explore the property safely and just be boys covered in dirt and leaves. The property is beautiful and we were able to have a fire in the fire pit each day and enjoy dinners cooked outside. The house just right for enjoying a quiet evening and games around the big table. We will be booking again for sure!
Great spot for family/friends trip. Loved that me and my wife had one side of the house and the young adults were able to stay up late on the other side. It’s truly a beautiful property. We literally stepped out our front door and started hiking. The road that the house is on turns into a trail that leads to many other trails that run through Bald Eagle State Forest. There were enough other houses around to ease the minds of us city slickers. Highly recommended. A true return to nature.
Thank you for letting us use your beautiful cabin! It was a great place for a get-a-way. Everything was absolutely wonderful and we will definitely be back again and share our experience with family and friends!
