It was a beautiful place and location. Some minor damage from prior renters but no major issues aside from hot tub being out of commission! Great owners!!
We enjoyed our stay very much. The home is in a beautiful setting with a serene atmosphere. The host is very accommodating and responsive. We hope to return next year.
Limestone Lodge was very comfortable, exceptionally clean, and offered a range of amenities, including a hot tub, sunroom, and multiple decks overlooking the river.
We reserved this house for a family trip to PSU for our daughter's graduation. It did not disappoint! The house is spacious and beautiful. Although it is almost a 40 minute drive to PSU, the ride is mostly highway and very easy. The house had a ton of plates, glasses, and spices/condiments which made making meals stress free. We would definitely rent this house again if in the area with family.
It's a stunning cabin that feels secluded but is also conveniently situated next to nearby stores and restaurants. The photos lined up exactly with the place. Tons of beds and couches makes sleeping large groups easy.
This lodge is beautiful. We rented this place for our daughter's graduation from Penn State. Easy access to everything in State College without the crowds. We loved every minute of our stay and didn't want to leave.
We rented the house for a college reunion (Lock Haven alum). The property is very clean and spacious. It had every amenity we could have wanted. The kitchen is large and comfortable. It’s located in a beautiful wooded area with views of the creek below. The owners of the property were great to work with. We will absolutely stay here again!
Due to weather, we unfortunately had to cancel our stay the day of. I messaged the owners to ask if we could possibly reschedule the stay (I wasn't expecting any sort of refund since it was so late) . They showed immense understanding and without asking refunded 100% of the money spent on the stay.
Although we did not get to stay at their awesome looking property (yet!), the short experience we had with the owners guaranteed that we will absolutely do so in the future.

Disliked: Cleanliness
The place is large but very outdated. We arrived to dirty dishes in the dishwasher, dishes on the counter that were piled as if washed but no hand dish detergent and they were not clean. There was a Christmas tree in the game room (June). All kinds of things in the refrigerator and outdated spices. Half the burners were not working on the stove, the oven temp was not right. The outside doors didn’t want to close or open properly. There was black mold in the master bathroom. The “glass room leaked when it rained. Thankfully we were there and my daughter in law saw it right away so we were able to put a container there to collect the rain. The basement looked swept but there were small dead worms and flies on the floor. Dirty dishes found downstairs. The ceiling tile was stained from the roof leaking in the past . That part of the roof had been fixed but not the tile. The deck had sticks all over it. The screens porch part was a mess and had not been cleaned or updated. Chairs and table were very weathered.I informed the owner and he did give me a nights rent back but didn’t seem to care.
The house is beautiful overall in an amazing wooded area with a creek nearby. huge house with a ton of rooms, land and seating for eating and lounging. The kitchen, dining room and living room were bright with windows and doors to the decks. The master suite had a very comfortable king bed. There were various concerns and observations from the guests that stayed with us.We booked this home over six months ahead of time expecting all to be in working order.A few hours before we arrived I received a message from the host or management company saying that the air conditioning wasn’t working. They offered a refund if we chose not to stay but it was way too late to find other accommodations. Other reviews also said the air was broken so they were aware of the problem and it should have been rectified OR not offered as a rental. Upon arrival the management had purchased fans to cool the place off a bit. We then received a message saying the hot tub also wasn’t working so they would be giving us a 200 refund for our inconvenience. Also listed in other reviews this was a problem too. So they knew about it and it should have been fixed or taken off the listing as an amenity. The company was very communicative and apologetic and did refund an additional 300. A few other things to note:The rest of the beds were very uncomfortableNone of the tv’s worked except the kitchenThe towels were paper thinThe door to the deck didn’t workThere was no deck furniture except 2 chairs
I have struggled with writing this review as I hate being the one outlier in a large number of very positive reviews. A group of us were traveling to this area as some were participating in the Boulder Beast run. After seeing all the consistent positive reviews we were quick to book. The day before arrival, we were told the hot tub was not working. A disappointment for those in the race who really wanted to use it afterwards, but we get it. Things happen. Upon arrival, we opened the door to a very strong hot mildew smell. Looking up, you can see all the water stains that we were guessing were the cause of the smell. As we went up the steps, the heat kept getting worse. The note on the kitchen counter said that the air had been turned on for us so I went to the thermostat to see it was on and set at 68, but it was 83 degrees in the house. I immediately texted the management company to be told that the HVAC had been broken and should have been repaired so she said she called them to come back out. Later that evening I got a call saying that they are changing management companies for this rental and so she would send me the number for the new person. She also said she wasn’t hearing back from the HVAC person. I never got the text that night of the new number. After an awful sweaty night’s sleep. We woke up at 5am to get the group to the race. I came back and texted again to get the number and the HVAC repair status. The HVAC guy never came until 3:30 PM. So, the crew th
This is a large house with plenty of space to spread out. Lots of conveniences and everything we needed including paper towels and TP, cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer wipes, and hand sanitizer gel!
The temperature was a bit hard to control because it is three levels. The lower level got cold, the main floor was comfy and the upper level was warm. We worked it out by raising and lowering a few degrees depending on where we were spending our time.
Three of the four bedrooms are on the lower level with one full bath and a kitchenette and TV room/entry area. The main floor has the kitchen, dining area, sun room, screened porch, deck, family room, game room, bathroom and laundry. The third floor is the master bedroom and bath with a small relaxation area of the loft. We brought fans with us and used one up there. The giant bean bag chairs in the family room are awesome! Furniture is comfy. Hot tub was great.
We had trouble with the TVs and internet connectivity but Tracey worked with us and tech support and we got it all working to our satisfaction.
This was the perfect place to stay during COVID. The house is on a private drive and is remote from any other houses. It is tastefully decorated and is mostly used as a fishing lodge and weekend getaway. It is located in an area with very low incidence of the virus so we felt relatively safe but still wore masks when we went out.
It is close (20 mins) to Bald Eagle State Park/Lake which has a nice beach and some hiking trails. We rented a pontoon boat and had a blast riding on the giant tube that came with the rental. There are lots of other good walking/hiking trails in the area too. Make sure you visit the Bald Eagle Produce and bakery stand on Eagle Mountain Lane in Beech Creek. Their molasses cookies are amazing!
Tracey, one of the managers, helped arrange a horseback ride for us which was really nice. Tracey was great to work with and helped make our stay enjoyable.
Highly recommend this location for a great vacation getaway.
My family and I (10 of us) stayed the weekend to attend a family wedding. There was enough room to spread out, play pool, and enjoy each others company. The hosts responded to any questions in a timely (i.e. quick) fashion. We'd definitely stay here again and We'd recommend it to others.
What a wonderful place to stay! Consider this location for PSY
We had such a wonderful visit, celebrating our daughter’s graduation from Penn State.
The lodge is immaculate with gorgeous views
( even on rainy days!) we hosted a post graduation celebration and our friends and family were thrilled with the accommodations.
It is just 30 minutes from the University and it exceeded our expectations! We highly recommend!
Mill Hall Pennsylvania is a great area for a relaxing! Unplug from your life, hike in rolling hills, swim in local lakes, sample wines at local vineyards and enjoy some of the best produce and meats we’ve ever had from the local Amish farmers. We were totally charmed by all the Amish buggies passing us or seeing the horse drawn tractors and hay wagons in the fields. I suspect leaf watching in the fall would be spectacular. We only tried one local restaurant, a local rib place called Curt’s, and it was very good. The house itself was perfect for our group, with lots of bedrooms, comfortable beds and lots of different spaces to relax so those who needed to work or wanted to participate in a digital exercise class or watch a movie could find their own nook. Our ambitious cooks found we could easily prepare dishes because the kitchen was well-equipped in terms of dishes, pots and serving bowls. Plus, the previous tenants had left lots of herbs, spices, and condiments. Our contact, Tracey, was very kind, responsive and gave great local suggestions, making our stay very comfortable. I would highly recommend this site.
