My family and I were staying a few days to explore Acadia and found Milford on line. When we pulled up, it looked like any ordinary mom and pop hotel. Jayne then checked us in. OMG, what a wonderful person. This woman epitomizes what hospitality is. She steered us to a couple of good restaurants and was always attentive. Anyway, about the room, we had a 2nd floor room with a small balcony and a view of the river. If you can, get a 2nd floor room. It was so nice sitting on the balcony in the evening enjoying the view and a glass of wine or beer. The room did not feel like a hotel room, but someone's home. It was very comfortable and just homey. And we were able to get a room with 3 BEDS. I don't know why that's so difficult to do in this country when it's pretty common in Europe, but it seems the best we can do here is some sorry ass pull out bed. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and each BR had it's own AC unit along with the one for the main room. We loved this place and if I get back to Maine, I will be staying here again. As a side note, it was about a 45 minute drive from Acadia, but that did not bother me.
