Welcoming serene Delaware Beachfront cottage located in the heart of the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge (8000+acres). Beautiful natural beach with Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean views. Abundant wildlife, birds, and sea life. Property is sanitized and sparkling clean with basic amenities.
After years and years of study, we have come up with an all natural, eco friendly solution to common insects at the beach. We now have a new addition to our private beach paradise, a family of resident, Purple Martin’s to take care of all those pesky insects!
Free Wi-Fi! The Cottage has cold A/C and is heated during colder months. Enjoy surf fishing. Bring your own boat, jet skis, kayak, or Jon boat and beach chairs. Free Wi-Fi!

Fenced yard for dogs. Shower off the sand in the Bath(Shed)House. Laundry & bathroom are available in Bath(Shed)House. However, Shed House is Winterized during the months of, Dec, Jan, Feb & March. So no water usage, no second bathroom.

Awesome porch/great room, perfect for entertaining! Listen to the soothing waves or relax by the fire pit under a starlit night sky. Witness beautiful sunrises over the Atlantic Ocean and in the evening, see stunning sunsets over the refuge wetlands.

Cozy little vacay!

We've stayed here a couple of other times- house is perfect, location is wonderful! It was nice and quiet this time of year which is exactly what we were looking for. Our pup had a blast...the fenced in yard is perfect!

Perfect getaway

My dog and I had a great time here. The beach is right in the backyard, and we didn't bump into any other people. The home is one of the cleanest rentals I've ever stayed in, and Suzy was very communicative. Would definitely come back again!

Rejuvenating Getaway

The cottage, beach, and community were just what I needed after an especially stressful spring. The house was clean and bright and cheery. Being right on the beach reminded me of childhood summers at my uncle's cottage in Slaughter Beach.

Definetely Relaxing, quiet and great place to stay

We only had a short stay. The house was amazing, relaxing, clean and had lots of games and puzzles. And it was literally right on the beach! The fenced in yard was great for our dogs.

Adorable House on a Quiet Beach

We really enjoyed our stay and absolutely loved the beach. The house met all of our expectations and was a perfect size for 3 adults, a toddler, and a dog. The beach was delightfully dog welcoming! Milton, DE is the cutest little town with so many cute businesses, restaurants, breweries and a sweet little playground.

Perfect relaxing getaway

This charming cottage is ideal for a peaceful getaway. If you’re looking to avoid crowds and noise, this is the perfect spot. Peaceful Place for Rest & Relaxation

This place was perfect for us. The sunroom facing the dunes and ocean was idyllic. We had tremendous views and enjoyed sunrise every morning. We appreciated the cleanliness of the home and thoughtfulness of the host with things like coffee filters, etc. We look forward to booking there again. Thank you for sharing your lovely seaside home.

It was great

Staying here was a true wonderland if you love nature & want to escape. The house is comfortable & unpretentious. It was very clean and welcoming with so many thoughtful details. Loved helping out w/ horseshoe crab protection.

Great spot for a relaxing week with the dogs

We had a wonderful week here. We loved the big room with windows on the beach and the swooping and calling gulls. We saw a pod of dolphins going by once. It's a calm, quiet beach, great for walking and exploring. The fenced yard was a gift for our dogs, who love being outside whenever possible.Prime Hook Beach is a small residential community -- I walked every inch of it several times with the dogs. :-) We've stayed in Lewes in the past, and so drove there a couple times to visit our favorite restaurants. Groceries are about a 12 minute drive away.

Clean and comfortable

Great place to stay, the house was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Communication was excellent with immediate responses to any questions we had. The little outdoor shed is great with washer/dryer, shower, beach chairs etc. Overall a great experience, would recommend this property to anyone.

The Perfect Vacation

The description of this house and its location can’t begin to describe how quaint and beautiful it is here. Perfect getaway for my family and 11 year old pup. Literally step outside and you are on the beach. The sunrises are breathtakingly gorgeous. Quiet and away from the crowds.

Relaxing get-away

The stay was great! The house is very accommodating with the kitchen being at the hub of the house. Beautiful views of the grasses out front just before the waters edge, and a prefect fenced in yard in back for the doggies. The house was clean and cozy, with the front room ideal for dining, playing board games, watching TV, or just relaxing. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!!

Perfect getaway, as always

We love our stays here (this was our second year) we stay between Christmas & New Years & it’s just heavenly. We love the remoteness, quiet & everyone is so friendly! Absolutely perfect

Cleanist place we have ever rented. It was so quiet there. Loved the fact that there was a fenced in area for my dog. The beds were comfortable. Having a hose right by the door to wash the sand of our feet was a plus. Highly recommend this house. Owner always got back to me quickly with any questions I had.

Quiet retreat

The property was exactly how it was represented in the listing. The back room with the windows provided a beautiful view. The beach is just a few steps away through the gate. It is a quiet area and the nature preserve is gorgeous. You can tell the owner really takes pride in being a good host. Would definitely stay again!

Delaware Beach Vacation 2024

This is our 3rd time renting this beach front cottage. It is perfect for our family! We like that it is one story and has a fence for our dogs. We can go back and forth from the beach to the house in a few steps. The fishing was fun as was the 4th of July celebrations with the neighbors, the parade and ice cream social. We hope to be back again!

Pure Relaxation

This house is perfect for our family of 5 and our tripawd dog! The house has everything you need. And we love that the beach is right there! Our only issue (which has nothing to do with the owner and the house) were the black flys….they were brutal the whole week we were there!

Perfect beach front property with fenced yard and everything you need!

We’ve rented this property several years now and it’s the perfect beach front property. Many upgrades in recent years. It has everything you could ask for, fenced yard, gate to the beach, beach chairs, grill, and washing machine! Just grab clothes and your grocery order and head to the beach!

Cozy Cottage/Dog Paradise

This cottage is right on the beach with amazing views of the Delaware Bay and sunrise! Towels and sheets provided along with beach chairs. The beach is private and we spent a lot of time with our dog throwing ball on beach and in water. Our dog was living his best life ever!! Suzy is very responsive to answer questions. We enjoyed our peaceful stay!

Beautiful cozy and clean getaway on the bay.

This was our second time returning. We love it. Only steps from the beach. We especially love that we could take Nikki and Coco, our German Shepherd and Chocolate Lab. They had just as much fun as we did. The home is so cozy with everything you might need. Very clean. AC was cold on those very hot sunny days. The view is fantastic. We love the bay. We walked 15 miles along the beautiful beach while we were there. My son and fiancé joined us for a few days which we loved! Hats off to Suzy.

Lovely long weekend getaway!

We had a great time, our very first time staying at Prime Hook Beach, and hope to return again! The pictures and the many reviews accurately match and describe the house. It’s perfectly clean and well maintained and very well supplied. The house is really a well designed beachfront property, sitting just over the dunes, just a short private pathway in the sand to the beach. It’s our kind of beach, natural, secluded, away from the bustle and crowds. In fact our mid September visit meant we rarely saw anyone else, just waves and sand and our doggie dashing into the water. What a welcoming place for our pet, and so very comfortable for us, too. Just what we wanted, a peaceful, relaxing long weekend at the shore, an easy 2.5 hour drive due East from our city. Our host is so accommodating and responsive, we sure hope that she’ll have us back!

Wonderful stay!

Our family absolutely loves Prime Hook Beach and have stayed in another home down there multiple times. This was our first time at this house and we LOVED IT. It’s perfectly located, just steps down to the water. There was plenty of space with three comfy rooms (with very tall beds!) and a huge dining/living room area. The big fenced in yard was perfect for our dog. The kitchen was stocked with mostly everything you could need for a stay. We didn’t see a coffee maker or coffee grinder but were thankful for the Keurig machine and pods. There were plenty of sheets, pillows, blankets, and towels and we brought some of our own along as well. We cannot comment on the second bathroom, washer, dryer, and grill as they were not available for our stay. The only thing that worried us was the front door could be opened from the inside by our toddler even when it was locked but the solution was simply to lock the two doors inside the kitchen at night to prevent her wandering out into the dining area alone in the morning.
