Our taxi drove past the reception sign to conference centre end, so we lugged our bags past what looked like the reception for the conference, following the sign back that indicated the hotel reception. Got there and sign saying "closed" and to use other reception. My partner mentioned this to the apathetic receptionist who just shrugged. He said to me in the lift that she didnt seem to care but he was concerned she'd give us a bad room if we said any more. On getting out of the lift, we discovered our room was right opposite the lifts. So people talking at the lift at all hours. The room was great, although the bed sheet had blood on it when pulling the doona back (changed when reported to reception). The gym signage was also poor. Building works in progress, not hotel's fault. The standout thing was the amazing dinner - great vegan food! Wine list limited to about 4 or 5 chardonnays and 2 or 3 other varietals.
