We are mortified to read this review and we offer our sincere apology. Unfortunately we rely on others to report any maintenance or cleaning issues as we live in Adelaide. I only just found out that the cleaner’s vacuum cleaner broke down and had not finished the job. She returned later but could not get you or your guests to hear her knocking or calling out. She never contacted us to let us know of the situation or I would have rung you to arrange for the cleaner to go back. I rang you today Nicole to explain, offer our apology and refund the cleaning fee. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the house and the views. So sorry that you did not have a good experience. All our reviews are 4 and 5 stars and our guests enjoy the ocean front views. Unfortunately we can’t pre-empt nature with the ants and mosquitos. Ant rid and fly spray is always supplied. We do have the NBN connected now and wi-fi is available for our guests. There was a roll of rubbish bags in the drawer and we have spoken to our cleaners about providing extra toilet rolls and ensuring the bins are emptied. The upstairs tv does have USB ports. Thank you for staying at our beach house. The ocean views from the upstairs are always appreciated. A spring clean has now been done and the downstairs bedrooms have single beds which are designed for children. Unfortunately being on the oceanfront does have a down side with maintenance issues. The air conditioner heats the downstairs bedrooms and lounge automatically when the upstairs is on. Unfortunately some guests don’t clean as well as you would expect and items are put back this way, not thinking about the tenants coming after them. Thanks Patricia. We’re glad you appreciated our set up. We hope you loved the ocean views too, where you can’t help but relax. I have spoken to the cleaner and the oven has now been cleaned. We saw photos of the BBQ before your arrival and it did look clean, although it is getting on in age and is a bit discoloured. Please bear in mind it is on the seafront outside and does get weathered. Tenants are asked to clean it after use, ready for the next group. We take on your suggestion of a number visible on the street.

Sorry to hear that some things weren’t as you expected. We have had great reviews and have rarely had negative feedback, so we are disappointed on your behalf. We will address these issues with our cleaner. Being on the beachfront, depending on the weather conditions, salt spray can dirty the windows quite quickly after cleaning. Unfortunately dirty dishes left in a bedroom drawer would not be something that would be checked by them and we have never been made aware of any ant issues. We will check this too and see what can be done.
