The hotel is very beautiful, the staff is extremely friendly, and the location is excellent. However, the rooms are not well soundproofed you can hear everything, including people moving chairs and tables, and even guests running up and down the stairs.
This place is amazing. Perfectly located in the upscale part of town. Close to many restaurants and shopping. The rooms are HUGE and the staff is very accomidating. I can't wait to stay here again
This is the place to stay!
Welcoming and attentive staff. Very walkable area, and close to fine dining and shopping. Thoroughly impressed and happy with our decision.
Would absolutely stay here again.
Thank you everyone at Kimpton Virgilio.
TThe staff and the area were exceptional, with excellent restaurants conveniently located right outside your door. Throughout my entire stay, I felt completely secure in this wonderful neighborhood. It truly is a remarkable area and hotel.
We had an amazing time in the Polanco are of MC. The hotel was wonderful and super location. Angel and the staff were fantastic. We also had a great experience at the two restaurants in the property. Pepe and Las Canas with a rooftop.
We were there for a medical visit. Stayed 4 nights. The hotel was wonderful. Nice neighborhood. Very helpful staff. Positive energy vibe. Enjoyed the breakfast menu very much. Highly recommended.
Had an amazing time at the hotel. Room was amazing, staff was amazing, food was amazing and the location is unbeatable, what else is there to say? Thanks to all at the front desk, restaurant and management. We'll be back
This was my first time staying at this hotel. First impressions were it's beautiful, the rooms were very clean and comfortable! The staff was very welcoming and helpful! The whole stay was fantastic. It's within walking distance of shops and restaurants, so centrally located! Can't recommend this hotel enough! Definitely will be back.
The rooms and amenities were great and modern. Good hotel for traveling with friends or a group. Angel the concierge was excellent and arranged a great city tour, he even inquired after our tour to ensure it was to our liking. The service was not up to par for a 5 star hotel and inconsistent, I stayed 3 nights and only received the turn down service one night and had to ask to receive renewed in room products.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Service was excellent and best location in Mexico City. However, the room wasn’t great. Poor water pressure in the shower, very dark bathroom lighting for makeup. Frustratingly, the “balcony/terrace” opened to the inside of the hotel and offered no fresh air. Also, the DJ spinning on the roof made our room shake and kept my 4 year old up until 10pm.
My thoughts after staying 4 nights at this brand-new boutique hotel located in the heart of Polanco, Mexico City
Positives:
Cleanliness and Design: The hotel is spotless and well-designed. It's obviously new so that has a major role in the cleanliness.
Friendly Staff: The staff are welcoming and very accommodating.
Negatives:
Lack of Common Areas: One significant drawback is the absence of a proper common area. There is no lobby to relax, have a drink, chat, or work on your laptop. The small 8' x 18' reception area, which includes only a desk and two elevators, is insufficient for a hotel of this caliber.
Oversized Restaurant: The hotel features a large restaurant that feels out of proportion for the space available. This restaurant, which occupies the entrance area, lacks the inviting atmosphere necessary to attract guests from the street. A covered area at the back of the hotel would have been a more suitable location for the restaurant, leaving the front area to serve as a welcoming lobby.
Overall:
While the hotel excels in cleanliness, design, and staff friendliness, the lack of a welcoming common area is a significant drawback. A more inviting lobby space would greatly enhance the guest experience and attract more visitors. As it stands, the empty restaurant at the entrance detracts from the hotel's appeal. I wouldn't stay here again unless these issues are addressed.
I've stayed in several Kimpton properties so I was delighted to see one in CDMX! Did not disappoint. Especially the staff at check in, wait staff, bartenders, and Elizabeth the morning manager. Seriously, one can get spoiled in Mexico, but your crew went above and beyond.
Very nice place but don’t lose the hotel umbrella!
Everything was excellent but I have some comments:
1- there was sewer smell in the bathroom a couple of times. Once, quite strong
2- one of the days of my stay I did not get the hand towels nor the face towels
3- when I got the room the first day, the room had been sprayed with a strong fragrance. It’s like a “green fig” scent. Not unpleasant but I could see people disliking it. But, it did leave oily spots on the floor and the wood floors and bathroom tiles were quite slippery. I almost fell when I came out of the shower the following morning. The hotel has to be careful with this.
4- an unfortunate event: this time of the year, it’s very rainy in Mexico. The Friday evening after I came back from a work dinner I wanted to have a night cap at Licorería Limantour, a favorite spot of mine which is around the corner from the hotel. I asked to borrow an umbrella from the front desk. When I came back, it wasn’t raining so I forgot the umbrella at the bar. I still stayed TWO days at the hotel. Upon checkout on Monday at 5 am, I was told I was been charged FIFTY dollars for the umbrella. I complained firmly, because in all honesty, I could’ve been alerted by the staff during those two days and I could’ve recovered the umbrella from the bar. They KNEW I was at that bar (I mentioned it to them when I asked to borrow it.) and charging fifty dollars????? That’s unacceptable.
