The staff was amazing. A cell phone was left in the cab. The young man at the front desk went above and beyond to help us get it returned. He offered us an umbrella on a rainy day. He made recommendations for locations to watch a sporting event we really wanted to see. The room was really clean. Fresh drinking water everyday. We were on the street side of the hotel and it could be a little loud but the noise didn't go on too late. Check in/out went very smooth. They let us into our room even though we arrived earlier than their stated check in time. This is a hotel I would visit again. So many food choices near by. Easy walking to many things in area. All in all a lovely stay.
The location is 10 out of 10. The hotel is very clean and staff is super friendly. The design of the hotel is very minimal but very cozy. The only downside there are no windows in some of the rooms so there’s not much natural lighting but if you’re not looking to stay in the hotel all day, it’s perfect.
Casa Almamia is located in a lively part of Roma Norte, and loud thumping bass from club music is a nightly occurrence: the music shuts down at midnight, and street noise continues for another hour or so. Not a fault of the hotel, just a fact of staying on a street with a vibrant night life. Cheap foam earplugs would be a useful mitigation to allow you to enjoy the positives of the neighbourhood while still getting a restful sleep.

Everyone seemed grumpy and very rarely would they even acknowledge me when I came back to hotel- the door was usually locked and they seemed annoyed they had to open it early for in the morning when I’d go out for coffee. The room is above a restaurant and it’s noisy most of the day and evening. If I wasn’t waiting on a FedEx packages that was supposed to be delivered a few days into my stay, I would have eaten the cost of the hotel
And left and stayed somewhere else. Not a very friendly staff- except for one girl who worked reception, she was always pleasant- but everyone else would t even look up from their cell phones when I walked in the hotel. Would not recommend and would never stay again. But the location is great.
The room was directly off the reception desk, 8’ away and the nighttime desk staff would listen to music all night long. Heard of headphones? The room was not located in an appropriate location for anymore than a couple hours rest at a time.
On top of that, what they don’t tell you anywhere in the booking is that the room is right on top of a piano bar that is right below the room and they go to 2:30!
The room was what I expected and nice, but the booking said there was a balcony. There was not.
The worst thing was that we booked the restaurant for Christmas dinner and even though they confirmed the reservation twice, the restaurant was closed, leaving us with zero comparable dinner options. Ruined my trip to be honest. The other item that was troubling was that there was a rooftop lounge apparently that we were only made aware of when checking out. This place had the potential to be really special but there was minimal effort to do so.

There are bed bugs at this hotel and when I called and emailed to tell them, they told me that wasn't possible. They didn't do anything for me, least of all refund me for my stay.
